    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Running From Our Own Home [Kenna, KINGDOMS]
    #1

The blood bay yearling and her liver chestnut Lady, Kenna, had to leave there own kingdom. It was no longer safe for the two mares to reside in there Kingdom, they wanted Mary and they would kill anyone to get to her. It was not safe for her to stay in the Kingdom, they were better off with her mother who could take care of them until she returned home, some day. The yearling was more than scared to be alone but a Queen does not show such emotions, she looked calm and fearless on the outside. Slowly walking into an area that had the scent of other horses, but as they approached it was fillies and colts younger than herself and her lady. She looked around and found it rather odd, was there any mature horses around?

The yearling made her way until there was no more fillies and colts in sight, she turned around to Kenna who trailed behind her "Do you think these lands are the ones we were directed to?" Mary's mother always told her she would need to find these lands were horses had powers beyond her wildest imagination. Looking around, she did not seem to find any of those powerful horses. She gave a snort with frustration, she should be back in her own kingdom ruling her members, but instead she left, unaware of what she would return to. The mare was hopeful to find someone like her mother described, to make an alliance and a new life in these lands. The sun was out and the weather was warming up, it appeared as spring was practically over and it was now summer, the flowers were almost in full bloom, the trees full of life; clouds did not cover the sun anymore. The sun beat down of the two mares, Mary's velvety coat was shining in the reflection. The mare paced forward and threw a whinny, hoping that someone of importance would hear her call. She did not know what she was getting into, but she had to be brave for her kingdoms sake.

    Lady Kenna
Since Mary, Queen of a lost Kingdom, was a child, the surrounding Kingdoms wanted her Kingdom and her crown. But there are forces that conspire.. forces of darkness, forces of the heart. Long may she reign.

Sworn protector & Lady in waiting, she knew Mary's life was constantly threatened by surrounding Kingdoms that disagreed with her right to the crown. Unfortunately for them, now that they had entered a foreign region the threats would be halted for the time being.

Traveling side by side, the two fillies found themselves in a field of sorts. Kenna of course was horribly unsure if this was the place Mary's mother had spoke of. All Kenna knew is the land was called Beqanna plentiful with kingdoms, herds, and equine of all varieties. The field they had aimlessly wandered upon was dotted with children surely younger than they surely were. It was like an orphanage, mothers would simply leave their children to a life of abandonment but something about the field seemed different.

Her lobes swivel to the vocals of her queen,"I think so, but we're not out of the woods yet." The yearling broke into a graceful trot keeping her posture poised, as she took in her surroundings. Gold flecked eyelashes batted about as Kenna diligently searched for a mature equine. Other than the petite things that lay dormant upon the ground there were little large figures weaving through the children. "Mary, did your mother speak of certain regions within Beqanna?"

Halting to wait for Mary to catch up the yearling seemed to show off her Royal brand to a passing foal. The youngster thought little of it and just simply continued on with it's business. In her homeland, having a royal brand was gifted to those who were part of the Royal court. Fortunately for Kenna, being Mary's Lady in waiting it privileged her with the mark. For some in her kingdom it was a mark of superiority but as a yearling it was simply a little toy to show off to other children.

Kenna simply glared at the child that took little notice to the Royal brand upon her shoulder."Can you believe that? He didn't even take notice to it." Kenna spoke in a rather regal tone, returning her focus to the brand to admire it herself. And returning her gaze to Mary awaiting for orders or simply what the two shall do next in the foreign land.

The young bay filly gazed around the area, it was an odd sight to see. She didn't know of any foals that were abandoned in the kingdom her and Kenna came from. She wanted to offer comfort to each foal, but they had a task they needed to accomplish. Mary's mother told her that Beqanna could offer powers, far superior than Mary has ever seen. Perhaps powers to help her return to her kingdom; for now this was Mary and Kenna's new home.

Mary picked up the pace to return to Kennas side, she gave a chuckle as her friend was upset over the foal not knowing there royal crest. Although the horses from there old kingdom all knew what the crest meant, and the two fillies held pride to be wearing the crest, these equines would most likely not know the crest. "Kenna, just like we are not sure if these lands are Beqanna, I'm sure these foals have never heard of our lands, or our crest for that matter." she nuzzled her friend to assure her of there journey here. She wasn't even sure of the journey, but the filly would attempt to stay humble and true to herself.

The filly looked around again wondering if any mature horses were near, perhaps this was a watching area for the foals. "My mother just said that there was equines of all kinds, and multiple kingdoms lives here, seven I believe" she paused trying to remember any other details. She took a deep breath before giving a whinny that echoed through the orphanage, she hoped to attract the attention of a mature horse, looking back at her friend with a smile. She knew this was the correct lands, this was there new home. The fillies would make a life here, holding onto the memories of there original kingdom.

Anahi let out a content sigh as she resumed her grazing, her legs absentmindedly carrying her over the grass as she ate. A short while after joining the kingdom of the Falls, the young champagne mare had become a diplomat, which entitled not only establishing peace between kingdoms, assisting the rulers in doing so, but also going out to recruit new faces for the Falls.

That day, Anahi had paid a visit to the Fields, hoping to see some mares that might be a good fit, but did not see anything that perked her interest. The few she had spoken to seemed content with living their lives in the Field, and Anahi couldn't blame them. It was a nice place, but she'd gotten used to her new home. She lived among other horses, something she hadn't done for the better part of two years. She belonged to a herd, and served a very nice king and queen for the kingdom.

All in all, her life was good. Hopefully, come next breeding season, she'd also have another reason to think of her life as a very good situation to have. But she'd be patient; she was good at that. She would wait another day or so before returning home, something she was eager to do.

So, when she heard the sound of a loud neigh echoing from the nearby den area, a place where she had heard where foals went to find a new home, she immediately became worried. Was another foal there, looking for a mother or father to care for it? But no, something told her it wasn't. That neigh had sounded more mature than a young filly or colt. Anahi had to guess that the one who had neighed had to be around a year old or so.

The champagne mare loped toward the den area, slowing her pace as she looked around for the source of the neigh. She eventually spotted something in the distance; it appeared to be two fillies, around the same height and age. As Anahi came closer, she also noticed that one of the fillies, the chestnut flaxen one, also appeared to have some sort of mark on her shoulder. From this distance, Anahi couldn't tell what it was, or if it gave her a bad feeling.

Guess she'd have to find out.

Stopping a comfortable distance from the two yearling fillies in an effort to not startle them, Anahi let out a calming nicker before speaking, "Have you two become lost out here? Are you looking for someone?"

Since Mary, Queen of a lost Kingdom, was a child, the surrounding Kingdoms wanted her Kingdom and her crown. But there are forces that conspire.. forces of darkness, forces of the heart. Long may she reign.

At the sight of another equine, more mature than the others that lay pathetically on the ground, Kenna instinctively stepped in front of Mary in a protective manner. Lobes perked in curiosity, was this mare a friend of a foe? The girl didn't know, but for good measures she held her ground her nostrils flaring in a neutral tone.

As the mare spoke, Kenna became less tense. She seemed to be welcoming them in the least threatening manner, allowing the girl to return to her friend's side. Kenna playfully nipped at Mary's mane before answering the mare, "We're not lost, we went exactly where we were told to go." The filly paused, hazel eyes lancing about. "Well, we're not looking for someone in particular." Heeding what Mary said, that probably all of the equine were unaware of their origin Kenna spoke little of their background. "We're just looking for a powerful equine that upholds the rank of King or Queen."She spoke politely, her tone laced with honesty as a sweet little smiled curled up upon her lips.

"Do you know of one?" Kenna spoke in a regal tone, her posture tightened for a moment with little hesitation she strode forwards towards the mare. It was a foolish move that Kenna knew, that she pulled every time to remain more convincing. She found more equine would welcome the idea of taking her somewhere she walked towards them, in a calm welcoming manner. This method allowed her to get what she wanted from whoever, and she would lay this trick down with ease to every equine that will ever come across her. "If so, would you mind taking my friend and I to whoever upholds such great power?"

Alright, now this was just getting cheesy. What was Kenna walking herself into? Especially with her best friend by her side, it could simply be a trap for Mary. Or it could lead them to who they needed to find, and who they needed to speak to.

Marys head was quick to turn as she heard the voice of another, when she turned it was a petite mare with a beautiful champagne pelt. Before she could say a word Kenna protectively stepped in front of her, she gave a humble smile thankful for her Lady.

Mary listened as Kenna explained there reasoning, Mary was slightly nervous that she gave this mare all of there information. For all they knew this mare had followed them from there home lands confirming that they were of the royal kingdom. Although her instinct was to worry, the champagne mare did not have a scent from there homelands, in fact she smelled like these lands, but her own scent, perhaps one of the kingdoms scent? Mary returned the fillies playful tug of her mane with a nuzzle of her shoulder, the bay filly stepped forward "Are the lands of Beqanna?" she asked with a noble and courageous voice. They might be yearlings, but these two were wise beyond there age.

Although the mare seemed to be humble, and pure, it was hard to openly accept help from a stranger. Marys mother told her that  a couple of the seven kingdoms were bad, and would take advantage of them. The other five were pure, and only seeked to help others. She had hoped this champagne mare was one with the helpful kingdoms. Mary could sense the slight hesitation in Kenna, she must have been thinking the same thoughts. Mary stepped forward to match the pace as Kenna, her body touching Kennas. The two yearlings had bombarded the mature mare with questions, hoping she could register all of them, giving an answer they so desperately needed to hear. Was this there future

Anahi watched the two yearlings nipping at each other's manes, chuckling slightly at the sight. She patiently listened as the two of them questioned her if she'd come from a kingdom, what land this was, and if she knew a horse with a high ranking.

For some reason, the champagne mare was skeptical. Why would these yearlings be looking for someone of such high rank here? Was there an ulterior motive? It wasn't like she could just ask though, that wouldn't be right.

"Yes, young one, these are the lands of Beqanna. I come from a kingdom known as the Falls, and I do indeed know the King and Queen there. I would be willing take you, if that is what you so wish."

Since Mary, Queen of a lost Kingdom, was a child, the surrounding Kingdoms wanted her Kingdom and her crown. But there are forces that conspire.. forces of darkness, forces of the heart. Long may she reign.

Kenna's long golden locks, swayed as she stepped forwards advancing towards the mare dark chocolate lobes perked to her words, "Well then, lead the way." Kenna spoke curtly, it wasn't necessarily a demanding tone yet filled with authority, lets just say she was used to bossing equine around, and honestly she couldn't help herself but simply boss others around.

She glanced at Mary for a moment, concluding that what she had just agreed to had strode her friend right into the face of danger. No matter the trouble, their fate had already been decided and well, Kenna wasn't proclaimed Mary's protector for a silly little hoof fight, no she was proclaimed it with multiple months of battle training that followed her golden mane. Fortunately, during her battle training her coat had been left on fleek thankfully no scars were visible to the eye.

With regal steps, she fixed her posture tightening her back awaiting for the mare who's named was not included in conversation to lead the way. She was prepared to dance with danger itself if needed for her queen but, ruthlessly killing was not at a need at the moment. These equine of beqanna seemed welcoming enough to a foreign eye but, lets just see how everything falls in place shall we? They had quite an adventure set upon their hooves and, this was only the beginning.
