    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

It is quite frustrating to have all these plans of destruction in your head and yet have to painfully and slowly put them into place by hand. There is no luxury of mind control, he can’t burn down a kingdom by shooting flames out of his nose. Wouldn’t that be something? No, he relies on being a master manipulator, brute strength, and a strong sense of confidence to pull off his shenanigans. It’s fine but he wishes he could do more. It should have been him that had been blessed with a chaotic gift. Most of these idiots didn’t use their powers the way they should. It would have been different if they had been his to control. So very different. So much better.

The Meadow is cooler at night and so this is when he haunts it. Don’t get him wrong, he has no qualms with the Chamber or his mountain home. Straia gives him a pretty loose leash to do as he pleases but there is still a tether. One that doesn’t give him complete freedom to do as he wishes. Things like alliances and needing backup to start a war. He understands the need to lay things out ahead of time, the need for patience, the need of waiting for the perfect timing. However, it could be quite dull. Here he was free of kingdom shackles, to find more playthings that kept him occupied until Straia finally dropped his leash.
