    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Capulet found shelter from the changing world beneath the darkest canopy of the Forest. Where else was a quiet, unassuming shadow creature supposed to go? You can take a Taigan out of the forest, but you can’t take the forest out of a Taigan.

The black, wavering figure of Capulet hovers amongst the tightly-packed trees as he wonders the famed shadow family of Taiga will take the loss of the only home they’ve ever known. Capulet knows that he is not faring well, his face set in a scowl and his yellow eyes almost rolling with irritation. Above his head, a pale blue glow illuminates the constantly shifting darkness of his face. He drops his mouth to the leaf-littered earth, not sure what exactly he is looking for.

Alone and agitated (but mostly sad), Capulet stands perfectly still, glazed eyes peering at some uncertain future in the distance.

this is not good lol but i was rushing before work

Heda isn't a stranger to change, she's watched lands rise and fall throughout her lifetime. But she will never shake the aftermath that is to follow, the displacement, the mourning of what was and perhaps will never be again, and the rebirth. Something always greater comes from this, and although she is again frustrated by the loss of the meadow, she knows there are greater things waiting for her in the present. She had lived her life for so long dwelling on the past, it was time to begin again.

The golden woman had sought shelter in the forest when the storm hit. She had always found comfort within the confines of trees, perhaps it was her taigan roots that drew her here, but more likely that it was simply one of the few lands left unscaved. She is frustrated as she wanders, although she might not look it. It's the way that the emotion festers within her mind, the intensity of it all, the anger fuming within her soul. Yet she knows it's temporary, as are all feelings, but she still buries them deep. Cloaking them beneath layers of happiness, bringing her into a state of neutrality within her own emotions. She isn't happy nor angry, she simply is.

She's fine. Nothing more, nothing less.

The forest is quiet, yet teaming with life she can feel it beneath her skin as she weaves her navy dipped limbs through a maze of tree trunks and foliage. There is no doubt in her mind that there are others out here, others that have been displaced just like her. She carries that sense of hope beneath her gold flecked wings, as she wanders. Hazel eyes peering through the thicket, as a dark shadow comes into her view. She couldn't tell if her mind was playing tricks on her, but she also couldn't decline a chance of company, especially after all that has happened.

With kind features, the buckskin damsel expels, "Hello? Is that someone out there?" she pauses, drawing closer. A friendly smile forming on her navy lips, "Do you know what else is gone?"
