    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Bolder doesn't usually leave Hyaline.

He doesn't usually feel the need.

There is plenty within the kingdom to explore. He is always learning something new, whether it is a new perspective from a new shape he's found or a place that he's stumbled across by accident. (The purple mountains have been enjoyable for him to explore. The views from those peaks had been so crisp and clear, so different from the murk and shadows of Taiga.)

His treks through the rugged terrain have allowed him to try out different shapes and how they allow him to move against the climb. His usual form - a plodding adolescent wolf - had tired easily and though it had suited him just fine in the places where the trails narrowed, the padded paws of a red bear move him along much easier against the rocks. When he no longer feels like walking and the winter wind proves favorable, Bolder takes the sky as a red eagle.

Soaring for a time, he then rests when his sharp eyes finally find a tree to rest. What lingers below is something - someone - that the young shifter has never seen before. Twisting his head downward, Bolder leaps down to a closer branch to get a better look at the other horse. "Are you lost?" he tries to say without squawking too much.
