    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

let it all come out and burn like a fire
She is bored. Which, let's be real, isn't all that unusual. But it's worse today somehow. With Torryn off gods know where (probably sulking) and Haunt doing whatever it is Haunt does, she really has nothing to entertain herself with. It's so bad, she even thought about finding Eternal, but that idea is quickly discarded. She's still practically a baby and that's just... ugh.

Something had ruffled dad's feathers anyway, and she really didn't feel like being on the wrong end of one of his dirty looks again. Of course, it never really occurred to her that she always fully deserved them. As far as she is concerned, mom and dad only ever stopped making out long enough to tell her to be nice to her siblings. Just the thought makes her want to roll her eyes.

    She's always nice. Sort of.

Whatever. She doesn't want to deal with them anyway. So instead she finds herself wandering idly through the trees, flitting through the shadows with practiced subtlety. She might have gotten mom's looks, but somehow the shadows still seemed to love her like they do dad (a fact she frequently pointed out to her siblings, lest they forget). She had also found the skill very convenient for snooping. Which is precisely what she is doing today.

At least until a smokey gray colt catches her eye. For a minute she just watches him, boredom and curiosity warring within her. He's a stranger, she's pretty sure. And she's not quite sure whether she finds that interesting or irrelevant. In the end however, she can't really resist. Stepping from the shadows, she eyes him with faint skepticism before saying, "You smell weird."

who gives a damn if we lose the war?

It had been close to a month since Voracity had left Pangea and found his way to Taiga. The forest had called to him in the winter season and before he knew it the forest had convinced him to stay. Whether or not that would be permanently was an entirely different subject that he wasn't willing to even consider. At least not now. Though that meant it was about time that he began to meet those who lived here. He couldn't very well live here and not know anyone, could he?

Socialization had never been the boys strong suit. His constant desire to discover the gifts he expected the fairies to have given him had taken up much of his life and today was no different. Instead of socializing, the way he knew he needed to, the colt was fooling around between the towering pines and hoping that something would emerge in a result of his efforts.

Today he was running and jumping through the snow hoping that maybe, just maybe, levitation was the gift he had not yet discovered. Floating would make sense wouldn't it? Maybe it just didn't happen until you were going fast or jumping over a fallen tree?

Come on, let's be honest. Nobody ever said that his way of thinking was the best.

Hours were spent on his attempts, though unbeknownst to him those attempts were futile. As a result sweat slicked down his neck and chest and his body trembled as he gasped for breath. Standing there in almost complete and utter defeat, Voracity finally decides to quit and leave his work for another day. Though that didn't necessarily mean that the universe was done with him. "You smell weird," the statement snaps him away from the disappointment that loomed over him and his ears press firmly against the back of his head.

"So do you," with slow steps he turns towards the unknown voice, ready to defend himself. Though it's only when he notices the larger mare that he swallows and glances towards the ground. If his mother knew he had been disrespectful to a mare, she'd change into her eagle form and peck his eyes out. "I mean.." His heart pounds against his chest. "I've been... Practicing."
