    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

The green tinted stag was now full grown, last seen as a young boy. He often wonders where his twin had went off to, but it was better for beqanna that Drax has vanished. Father was no longer king of Ischia, but it still the kingdom lands always seemed like home, even if Tephra was the kingdom now.

He slowly strolls through the kingdom, the smell of war still lingers, the scenery is burnt and theres even blood splashed on the trees. He wonders if father was apart of the war, why it started and how it ended. Though surely he would find the answers in his stay.

He scans the horizon for another equine, he could hear the murmurs of others but none in sight. He continues to travel deeper into the kingdom, perhaps he inherited his fathers boldness, but he was never one to let his fate fall in the hands of another.

The days had grown shorter since he had returned from the mountain. He had secluded himself to his own hidden away corner of Tephra that had gone untouched by the chaos of war.

He had spent endless days and nights pushing himself, growing accustom to his new abilities. He could feel that his speed had increased to an unnatural quickness. He could move from one side of Tephra to the other in a matter of minutes.

Though this had came through the magic the fairy had poured into him, it was something he had to work towards. It had not been as trying as he had thought it would be because along with his new set of horns, his cloven hooves, and his bovine tail, Jakub did not tire as quickly. He could feel his heart beat slow and strong beneath his endless workouts. Even when his muscles tired, his heart pumped strong keeping them moving and awake.

Today he left his hole in the wall of Tephra. He passed by canopies of thick foliage. Though it was autum the season did not seem to squash the heat or humidity that hung in his tropic home.

He broke through the edge of his curtain, the land opening up to dead, barren ground. The smell of sulfur clung to everything that wondered in, except for the now luscious flowers that Leliana had willed into the ground.

He paused a moment on the outskirts of the once war zone, dropping his large head down to the earth. His large bull horns almost penetrating the earth as he breathed in the sweet perfume of a large hibiscus. As he peered up a flash of  green, almost camouflaged with the tropic land, caught his eye. The breeze shifted just right pulling along an unfamiliar scent.

Had he really hid away that long?

With in minutes Jakub crossed the barren land. His large, black body could no longer go unnoticed. He pulled up short of the young man, his body toward over almost everything now. Who are you? His brow furrowed and his eyes questioned. He had no intention of coming off intimidating, but he had not socialized in his new body.

    Different but similar.

It was not long before the young stag was joined by another, just as Dario was unfolding the story in his hide. The reason for the burnt ground, a war most certainly, but a war for what? He wonders but it was too late to come up with his own story.

He turned to gaze at the stag who approached him, he was tall compared to the short Dario, and he had horns that peaked out both sides of his head. Though Dario did not fear him, his traits were not obvious, but hidden to reveal when he feels like it.

The names Dario, once prince, he thinks to himself. I lived in Ischia as a child, when it was the kingdom. I have simply returned home. He cautiously gazes at the stallion, but his lack of arrogance leads him to believe he is not the current ruler. And who are you? He cocks his eye in wonder.

He watched the green boy with interest his ears peeking forward as his attention remained on his explanation. His blue eyes watch him as he introduced himself as Dario and explained that he was from Ischia. A small smile crept across his face at the mention of the land.

Jakub nodded at Dario, My name is Jakub, I am alpha here in Tephra which is now lead by Leliana. he did not know how long the boy had been gone so he added the last bit incase he was expecting to be greeted by someone else. Jakub swung around to stand beside the stallion his horns creating sufficient space between the two.

Welcome home. he said looking out across the barren land where the volcanoe had touched. Not all of Tephra had suffered but enough that it could not go unnoticed. Only the edges of Tephra stood lushes with Jungle greenery. I am sure alot has changed since the last time you were here he offers. The war between Loess and Tephra did a number on our home, but Leliana has been working diligently to get her back on her feet. he said motioning to the large blooms that grew beneath the hardened lava by their hooves.
