    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

you could break my heart in two, but when it heals, it beats for you

She has lived here for years now, and how quickly they have flown. Everyone has drifted away a little at a time, driven off or distracted by other things, other loyalties until almost all that remains of what Hyaline once was is blown slowly away. Kensa always remains.

Once the chestnut mare had believed she needed another here to lead beside her, afraid to face the vacuum left when Litotes had gone into Loess and never returned. A companion really, someone to stand the watch with her. She had needed that for a time, as she found her feet again and came to grips with who she was on her own. Amet had been a friend to her when she’d greatly needed one.

Now Kensa once again sits alone upon the seat of power in Hyaline, straight backed and with a slightly more guarded version of that old brilliant smile. The world twists and changes and she greets the chaos as an old friend, embracing the natural state of the world. Complete control, over the land, over the people is impossible, abhorrent to nature.

With that truth cradled near her heart she moves forward toward whatever Hyaline will become.

Spring always comes to Hyaline with a sudden flourish of flowers and bees and fruit trees budding up in preparation for an abundant summer. The delicate beauty is such a contrast the the pallid severity of winter peaks that had loomed over them only weeks before. In the glassy shallows of the lake Kensa lingers, alone except for the newborn that sleeps on a grassy embankment not far away. Sunlight reflecting off the glassy lake ripples across her skin and gives her golden markings a molten appearance. In the quiet she turns her face toward the sound of an approach, calm and silent.

    Kensa

Kensa is now the only Primarch of Hyaline, just acknowledging that IC  /shrug
