    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Those who have courage and faith shall never perish in misery; Davina, Any Healers!

The female was quite happy to have someone accompany her back to the Silver Cove, especially someone she could lend her help too.
Someone that wouldn't abandon her at any point.
The mare looks down toward the small child, her smile warm as she stays close to her, keeping the pace rather mellow so that she could keep up without any issue.
"The Silver Cove is a lovely place, I'm sure you will love it" she says quietly, her voice carrying solitarily toward the smaller equine, her smile still present as they gently pick up the pace.

As they crossed Hyaline the mare paused for a moment, giving the smaller one time to rest or think about the trip just in case she had any second thoughts.
The mare settles down for a couple minutes and rests next Davina, it is nice to lay next to someone you care for, an expression she shared with Castaneis at some point, one she would learn to forget over time, especially with the young filly being around.
"This land is quite a strange one, isn't it" she smiles as she stares wildly at the different structures formed around them, Hyaline was quite appealing, the winding forms of lakes and mountainous terrain creating a beautiful illusion that any present being could indulge in, quite magnificent.
"The place we are headed to is wonderful" she pauses as she smiles, her head lifted into the air, scenting the quiet breeze of coastal air, specks of salt attracting her mind to keep going "There are many foals there too of course" she adds as she stands up, her body shaking riotously to remove any dirt that remained on her black pelt.

"Come on, let's keep going" she smiles as she begins to move, her head turning back to make sure that Davina was following, her eyes never leaving the younger Equine, even for one moment.
The pair now approaches the Silver Cove, the strong scent of salty air filling their lungs as they walk, a rather welcoming aroma that invited roaming wanderers inside, almost greeting them in a homely manner.
Anninux slows down once more as they walk across the rolling hills of the Silver Cove, only halting once they had reached a peaceful opening in which they could rest in, the mare situating herself in a small crater, shading herself from the breeze.

Anninux does not rest for long though, there was business to attend to, one thing to be sorted was the young equine's cough.
She had suspected that the plague was already within her, ready to take her away, but Anninux wasn't going to let it be that easy.
The mare calls out gently in search of any available healers inside the Silver Cove, not all were able to heal the plague but some could ease the symptoms.
Perhaps while the foal was getting help, she herself could also relieve her own symptoms that had been developing over the coming weeks, a rather tiring development that she hated to see forming in the foal.

"We'll be joined by someone soon, to help you with that cough" she smiles as she settles, allowing herself to gorge on the damp grass beneath, her black muzzle softly sifting through the bristly grass.

The journey to the cove was rather long for her little spindle like legs, its was hard to keep up at times but she was thankful that Anninux always waited for her. It was a blessing to have company, to have someone that cared about her, although she knows little of real company, she has a feeling it feels like this. The deep feeling of love, that fuels her dependence on this mare, or could she call her mom?

The two pause for a moment, and little davina takes the opportunity to rest, her knees buckle under her weight and her little body follows to lay dormant on the ground. She's quite exhausted from their long trek, and she finds her eyelids begin to close upon her drawing her under the sweet spell of sleep. Anninux, cradles her in her protection and warmth, as she briefly dozes off, her delicate little head leaning against her ebony shoulder.

Her mind quells in slumber for a short period of time, until she's awakened by the sweet gentle nudges of her mother, her vibrant gaze lifts as her velvet lips expel a little yawn. Her appendages rise up from under her, she doesn't protest for she knows its vital she gets to the silver cove to be both heard and to be safe.  "Alright." She hums in a rather sweet yet diluted tone as she stretches her long legs. It isn't long until she reaches what she assumes is the silver cove, sea air graces her young lungs, the scent is peculiar yet presents a sweetness, gentle and persistent.  "Are we here?" She questions her words fumbling in her mouth.

She releases a violent cough, her wings once folded a her sides unfurl with the violent movement, her gaze flickers to Anni dawned with weariness. Her question is soon answered by Anni's call out to those within the land, her gaze flickers with wonder. The skeletal formations of vegetation dot the ground, from what she can see the land is gorgeous, much more fulfilling than the den, and far more interesting to gaze upon.

Her attention returns to her mother for a quick moment, she finds that the women is feasting upon the vegetation beneath her hooves. She grows curious, for all she knew is that she was never hungry during her time in the den, but a feeling brews within the depths of her barrel, a need and a hunger. So the little girl, intuitively bows her iridescent crown, her lips pluck up a few blades of what she assumes is some sweet seagrass. The taste is strange, as if dusted with salt, which her reminds her of the salty spray of the air, a probable cause. So she continues to munch upon the greenery, growing a taste for the salty yet rather delectable vegetation. Her flowered tail whisking at her hind quarters in a rather content notion. As she made her way towards her mother, her body pressed against Anni, her fangs quickly sawing through chunks of grass.

    do you ever wonder...
    ...do you ever dream?

The black-and-white heard the call from across the Cove. The call is polite, a maternal sort of gentle though, it is laced with urgency and fret. This is the very sort of thing that held him to the Silver Cove. He had to be ready to help his family once they returned from their travels. For now, this pair came to him for help. Velk abandons his patrol on the shore and steps into a swift canter. Striped hooves find traction in the cool sand as he allows his sense of smell to guide him to the waiting duo. Sapphire gaze soon catch the bright white marking on the female's forehead and Velk knows he is here. He is not the type to make a dramatic, sliding, white-knight entrance. He slows to a trot and then, a walk before he approaches.

A soft smile breaks his typically serious expression as he attempts to welcome the obsidian mare and, the petite child grazing beside her. He notes how weak the youth is beneath the purple sheen to her pelt. He assumes his touch is meant for her though he resists the urge to reach out and do it. These two did not know him and, he did not wish to scare them off. He addresses the mare by bringing his sapphire blue gaze up to meet her navy eyes before speaking. "Welcome to the Cove. I am Velk. You look as though you have been travelling for awhile. How can we help you?" Not one to be overly social, Velk had been studying diplomatic encounters. He is a quick study and, is proud of his greeting. He supposes the mare will think he is just the welcome wagon though, he feels purposeful standing before them, knowing he can help.

She tightly bundles herself against Anni’s side, as a stranger welcomes them. Her heart flutters with curiosity her vibrant gaze fixed as she examines every skeletal feature the stranger holds, his bones are strong and well formed unlike her frail bird like stature. She steps forwards hesitant, yet welcomed by the black and white stag’s words, a smile forms on her violet lips. “Hello! I’m Davina.”  She expels with a sweetness before exerting a small coughing fit, depleting her lungs of air and leaving the small girl gasping for breath.

She gazes at him apologetically, sharing a glance at her adoptive mother who peers down at her with a rather worrisome expression. She smiles regaining her focus, “My mother and I have been infected, we need a healer... I think?” She stumbles for a moment, glancing at her mother for a brief moment of reassurance , “We need a healer.” She restates with a self assured tone,  that smile of hers forming on her lips again as she stepped closer to the stallion.

“Do you know of a healer here in the cove?” She asks obliviously, completely set on being independent and taking up responsibility for both herself and her mother, and not clinging onto her childish dependence.
