    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

He bobbed his head in acknowledgment as she said her name to him though he had parroted words until now he simply wiggled his tail and nickered, “Mother.” He pressed his neck and head against her as she started to clean him. Her tongue stimulating him to start to look for his first meal. Ardashir bumped his muzzle under her stomach and around her flank once again as he looked for his first meal.

She licked along his mane as he found what he needed to get through his first 24 hours of life. His tail wiggling as he was able to feed from his mother. A tiny satisfied grunt passing his lips He let out a big sigh and grunt having finished and gave a little bounce in place after pulling his head away. He was full and happy now to be on his feet next to Tarvelie.

Ardashir looked to his mother wiggling his ears some as he wondering what was next for the two of them. He shook himself and felt his legs give a little wobble as his frame shook. “ Mother what now?” He asked as he bumped into her as he moved a few steps forward.

She finished cleaning him, her ears pressed forward as she watched those around them. Her wings had since folded back against her sides, no longer caring for the prying eyes of others. This was her son, and no one could change that for her.

She let out a small laugh at his eagerness to continue. She nudged his side gently, smiling at the boy.

"Rest now Ardashir, we have a long journey when you rise."

She spoke of their journey to Nerine. Though the journey for her was usually quick (for air held no boundaries as the ground did) it would now be tripled in length. The lands she claimed as her home were across Beqanna, a long journey for a newly born foal.

She nudged him gently, urging him to sleep. Over the course of the day she too had grown tired, and sleep would be needed to make it back to Nerine.

(OOC:I can start a new post in Nerine if you would like?)
