    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

She was sad. It had been days since her mom had left her. Those days had turned into weeks, and then into months. The fairies had helped her with the passing of the time. They had taught her other things too, but this was what she knew most. Another day would pass, another turning of the sun and moon and she was still here. And her momma was still gone and hadn’t come back. She held out a small kernel of hope, hoped that her momma was going to come back.

But it had been so long.

She smiled a bit at the faerie as she talked to her, worked on getting her to talk back. Star hadn’t talked or cried since that first night, when she realized that she had been left alone, twice. She didn’t know what had pulled the other mare away from her, but it had been something.

“Come on sweetie, say something.” Star just smiled a small sad smile and shook her head slightly. Her lips brushing against the small branch near her face, lips wrapping around the branch before she tugged it free. She tossed her head with it, prancing away quickly. She heard the soft sigh of the faerie but she didn’t acknowledge it, just kept on going just a little while longer.

(Sorry this was so bad. @[Lyr] )
