no such thing as ordinary, love - Karris - 02-29-2016

The first thing she is aware of is hunger.

Her beetle-black eyes open, blinking against the harsh light streaming down from above.  She stirs, feeling grainy sand against her damp skin.  Struggling to her feet, she can see a wide beach spread out before her, covered in shell fragments and yellow sand as far as the eye can see.  She turns to look up the bank, and is surprised to see nothing but sand dunes.  Where on earth is she?

Her stomach rumbles, and she eyes the water salty water lapping at the sands. She could dive back in, but it’s been so long since she last saw land. She’s not sure if she wants to risk being swept out to sea by the current.

After a few moments her curiosity triumphs over her stomach, and she begins to trek up the beach. When she reaches the crest of the first dune, she’s pleased to see a few trees and the end of a river that empties into the ocean. That’ll be her way inland.

She makes for the river and charges right in, sighing as the cool water hits her drying skin. She submerges herself for a few minutes and manages to find a nice fat salmon to feed upon. Hunger sated, she turns her attentions up river, and to what she’s sure will be a long trek. But she doesn’t mind. She just hopes that she can find company for what will be the first time in years.

(OOC: Don't reply to this one please, I wrote it as a background to her meadow post Smile )
