    It is as the sun is just lifting off the horizon that he appears from the darkness of the forest. He can still taste the fresh meat in his belly, warm and simmering. The monster has taught him well, and in return he catches what he can and bestows it to the monster as a gift. Occasionally he will catch himself something as well (like the previous night) and dig into the meal, leaving behind the heart. The repercussions for the first taste of a heart (although it came with renewed strength and eternal life, he has a few still-healing scores in his side from the monster’s claws) is something he remembers and is careful to steer around now.

    Nonetheless, the trickster (and now the murderer) has cleaned the blood off his face and off his chest. The scent still follows him faintly, but he hopes the overwhelming scent of horse in the meadow will mask it. Settling under a tree with a clear content expression on his face, the trickster waits for someone to either approach him or stir up trouble.
