see you in your dreams - Fazia - 06-30-2024



Fazia had only recently begun to feel warmer and as she did, her thoughts returned to the mountain. Being supernaturally cold felt like a warning, once she realized what was happening, but she couldn’t riddle out what it was a warning about. Was she not supposed to be asking the mountain for things? Could it sense that she had not been born in Beqanna and was telling her she wasn’t allowed?

Well, there was only one way to find out.

Once the cold in her body was just normal winter-cold and not anything more, she returned to the slopes of the mountain and once again began the climb. It was late in day by the time she climbed to where she had felt it before - that chilling presence - and the warm glow of her body catches on the rocks and low-lying plants that live here.

It still felt abnormal, rising so high above sea level. Could whatever magical creatures that lived here sense that uncertainty? Was that why she had been refused?

She couldn’t ask unless she could find a face - all she could do was keep trying until something else happened. Or until she got the same result enough times to confirm some suspicions.

The cold had not stayed with her, the bitter magic of frost finding no permanent hold in her bones, no chilled path through which to spread. The last of it falls away as she climbs the mountain, slipping back into the roiling depths below. Something Other rises up in its place, slipping about her as she climbs higher. Magic, little bits of it flickering as brightly as fairy light.

One of them, one that is more like darkness, might feel familiar as it flits by. That one remains when she reaches the peak, long after the others have slipped away, leaving Fazia alone on the peak once more.

Her quest has gone unanswered, it would seem, but for the little bit of light that has settled on her and then sunk inside. It will grow like a seed, the power of possession, hastened by purposeful use.

Fazia has rolled for a successful quest.

She must use the progressively more powerful ability of possession in three threads (or seven individual posts) with at least three different reactions of the horses being possessed (ie afraid, interested etc). When the threads are finished, post here with links to the threads.

Fazia felt like her body was humming as she approached the mountain once again, eager to see if her efforts were worthy. She so desperately hoped that they were.

Last time there had only been lights and then one final, flickering piece of something darker that had settled into her. There's no telling what will happen this time. She is on edge, trying desperately to stay calm, though her tail twitches behind her in order to disperse some of her nervous (and excited) energy.
