So, he climbs the treacherous mountain to the steeple top,
Bending on bruised and bloody knees,
Prostrating himself before the fae once more.

There is a mix up in the magics, a misunderstanding or a mistake. What is granted is not entirely what was requested, but nor is it wholly not what was wanted either.
The element of health wielded by the family is his to negate.
Will that power be enough to protect those he seeks to defend? Perhaps.
Or perhaps he will return again.
