The gentle pulsing glow from the pearlescent egg grows brighter with each second.  Beaming rays begin to shoot from the egg, reaching out to touch Sophist.  

The sensation is warm upon his cheek and then suddenly it is gone, along with the cloud serpent's egg.

Left is a phantom serpent suspended in the air where the egg had been.  It is much smaller but holds the same likeness as the serpent from the river of clouds.

It looks to Sophist before retreating upwards into the dark sky.  Confirmation that the cloud serpent will be alone no longer.

Inside the thorny entangled vines you find a gem much like those of the captive rabbits eyes.  It's faint glow entices you nearer, pulsing gently as if asking you to free it.  Upon the slightest touch the vines crumble away, exposing a gift for your bravery.
