Myrna suffocate the fire  i started-------------------- right when it kindles A dusting of snow had fallen during the night, but it is no barrier to the magic of the Crown. Even in the heart of winter, she is surrounded by flowers. The pale mare called Myrna grazes beside an ice-covered pond, and at her feet bloom yellow daffodils and bright crocuses. Something moves in the near-darkness, and Myrna turns her head for a better look. A rabbit, glowing a soft shade of sky blue that matched its cerulean fur, looks back. Myrna blinked, then smiled, and watched the little animal until it resumed its own foraging through the undergrowth. The climate here is a mild one, and winter feels exceptionally soft to Myrna, who’d been raised in the high mountains. There is always food to be found, and though she misses the company of other horses, their absence means that the other herbivorous animals of the Gates can flourish. They’d soon been joined by the hunters, and Myrna has enjoyed watching the interplay between the other animals, an almost-substitute for the company of her family and friends. But there is no conversing with the rabbit (though Myrna had tried a time or two), nor with the pair of wide-eyed deer that come to the opposite edge of the lake to drink.
