white rope marionette; arthas & any - Breckin - 11-20-2019 Taiga - where Arthas had said home was. The journey was long and remarkable. The distance she spanned nearly too great a venture for the wasted creature that she had so recently become. Unknown to her, there had once been a time when her body had been curved with sturdy musculature, sculpted and defined by the travels of a vagabond and a curious heart. Her posture had been proud and her coat unblemished. And in that time she hadn’t known the struggle of fragility like she does now. In an intimate way she knows the ache in her joints, the burn in her chest, and the ugly exhaustion that threatens to make her vision swim in black. The mare is nothing more than a skeletal husk of the woman she can’t remember. When she takes her first steps into the needle laiden floor of Taiga, the fleshy scars across her crest and withers pull tightly - annoyingly, having never quite healed right - gleaming dully under the guide of the moon’s light. You’ll know you’re there when you reach redwoods, the dappled once-king had said. It’s there that she stops, holding vigil in eerie silence, waiting for some inkling of recognition to make her heart clench and leap. But it does not come, even after the minutes bleed into the hours, and the brightness found in the eyes of the hopeful slowly fade away into the darkness of her own. It doesn’t come. And there she stands in lonely silence, as motionless as the titanic trees that guarded her. The only thing she lends to movement is a single ear, twisting as the broken wind carried past her. @[Arthas] RE: white rope marionette; arthas & any - lilliana - 11-20-2019 She had always been taught that home was a feeling more than any physical place could be. Something substantial like Murmuring Rivers, like Paraiso had been - well, things like that could be taken from you. Despite how Lilliana's young heart had protested at the loss of them, there had always been the constant reminder that family was the thing that could ground you. They could be the stars to map a chart by, a guiding light in the darkness. RE: white rope marionette; arthas & any - Aten - 11-20-2019 Aten couldn't believe how things were spiraling now... Castile moving in on Taiga... Lepis stepping down... Pteron being appointed the leader with Castile as the king... Wolfbane now on the loose, and the threat of hurting Lethia... He was beyond frustrated at this point, and he didn't know what to do. He wanted to either show Castile he had a reason to trust him so Aten could watch over Taiga... but that stallion was obviously set on thinking that Aten was a mistake and unworthy of Taiga's leadership. Without even knowing him... and he felt he had screwed things up too... He respected Lepis for the work she'd done... but she'd practically handed Taiga over to Castile, without a fight... and no horse was even trying to rein Wolfbane in now... who knows what he would end up doing to Lethia and their foals? Aten would set that stallion straight before he even had a chance, but he would never stop worrying... he couldn't live with himself if something happened to his mate and their foals... and it was this anger and frustration that sent him on a long gallop through Taiga's wilderness, his mind lost and his coat gleaming as his hair shifted in between solid scales and a horse's coat the more his thoughts raced. If it weren't for Turul flying in suddenly and warning Aten that he was headed for a small drop, the stallion would've kept going and potentially injured himself. But when he was in such a state, few could get through to him. Turul was one of them, luckily. The raptor had news of Lilliana and another horse not far away at the border, so Aten decided to investigate and take his mind off of the shit-storm Taiga was in the middle of. He stopped a few yards from Lilliana and the new mare when he got near them, hearing Lilliana speak before he walked up to them, breathing to calm down so he wouldn't unease either mare with his unusual appearance. "Nice to see you in good health Lilliana," he greeted, hoping the mare still thought well of him in turn and appreciated being on friendly ground, for Aten still considered her a friend, "I hope I am not interrupting anything, but I wanted to come and greet this new arrival as well." @[Breckin] @[lilliana] RE: white rope marionette; arthas & any - Lepis - 11-20-2019
@[Breckin] RE: white rope marionette; arthas & any - Arthas - 11-22-2019 Arthas
He travels through Taiga, quietly, his presence had been unknown aside from Bane. The once dead king had returned, he was more than excited to posses a physical body again, but still he found himself avoiding Lepis. Not only did his hatred for her make his stomach twist, but surely it was mutual. He had been busy since returning from the dead, having ran into a forgetful Breckin and convincing her of a friendship they never truly had. Alas, Arthas needed some fun in his life since retutning and Breckin was the perfect target. He occasionally visits the border of Taiga, having told Breckin about his home. He knew she wasn't too far off if he ever needed her, but keeping her out of the public eye for as long as possible was the best for his plans. But as he travels he can hear a gathering and he gulps with instant worry. His pace quickens as he travels quietly, his body growing to a halt as he spots not one...not two...but THREE equines surrounding Breckin. And too make it all the better, Lepis was one. His pelt would have turned white if he possessed such magic, but instead he forces his way into the gathering. He had to protect his secret, and of course as he closes in he catches Lepis calling her Breckin. Hopefully he wasn't too late, and he quickly slides himself beside the pale spotted mare. No Lepis, this is Roz, she's my friend. His harsh yellow gaze sits on Lepis for a few hearbeats. She looked stronger than ever, but from what Bane told him she had to....she didn't have anyone on her side anymore. He nearly grins at the thought of her failed marriage, but instead he remains begrudged. She's new to Beqanna, I told her to come visit my home. He drops plenty of bombs, not only to Lepis, but the other two he had never met. He is thankful that the pelt Breckin sports is not unique to just her, but a pattern many can hold. Her shell of a body that is perfect for matching his story. He glances a smile to Breckin before meeting the eyes of the other two strangers. I'm Arthas by the way, he extends his name to them both, perhaps they would find him more enjoyable than Lepis. Dangerous Business
