Castile had the audacity to demand Sinner and Mary to leave Sylva, a home they had since long before him. An attempt to banish them, among everyone at the battle field, but she should have expected it. Anyone related to Valdis would be hot headed and quick to make decisions without truly thinking them through.
She quietly remained in Sylva, someone needed to be here at all times. She expected a raid at some point, an attempt to drive them out. So in turn she stayed in Sylva, carefully raising her newest child.
The mother was raising another offspring to Sinner, and since Sabrina has showed no interest in the throne, the child she suspects to be heir. Heir to a kingdom, the kingdom that Sylva will soon rise up to.
She has had small and short interactions with Sinner since the war. Her feelings grew strong, regardless of her best attempts to bury them. But today she seeks him out, should the challenge for Sylva not make it...what would happen to them? They would have to leave there home for good, where does that leave there family?
Sinnnerrr, she sings out his name. A seeming tradition when they meet. She casually strolled through the heart of her home as she awaits his appearance.

there is but one rule hunt or be hunted
After the war things had been too quiet. He had expected a full raid to come raining down on Sylva to overthrow them, but nothing came. There had only been dead silence from someone that had opposed them to no longer be leaders of Sylva, but the hellhound didn’t exactly think too much about it. The silence had given him time to finally put the last remaining of bits of his plan to take what has always been his.
Challenging Castile for the leadership of the kingdom within their sector of Beqanna was not something anyone would take lightly—at least Loess would always remember it. Whatever the outcome was, it would be meant with danger. There would be those that would continue to take them down, but Sinner was prepared to protect his position once he was crowned king. He would never give up until that crown was his, even if that meant leaving Sylva behind.
There were sacrifices that would need to be made. Giving up something so precious meant greater rewards. Sylva would always be there, and so would he. But he could not give up on the opportunity now since it finally presented itself to him. He waited too long for this.
The familiar sound of Mary’s call reaches his ears. Sinner remains silent these past few weeks, but he does not miss the beat when he is needed. Mary had her own things to handle as well—raising another one of his children. However, she wasn’t the only one to birth another one of his children. Valdis carried another one of his, but she had been taken away to Pangea to serve a year as their guest. He often thinks of her, but visiting her during these important times was something he could not give up. Taking the crown for himself meant so much more.
Making his way towards the Mary, Sinner moves with no haste in his dark bay horse form. These last couple of days he does not find himself filled with worried. Eventually Castile would show up to accept his challenge, he knew that the dragon king would not forfeit the challenge. It certainly would bring the king shame if he did not accept it.
“Mary,” he coos softly as he comes near her. It had been too long since he laid his eyes upon his co-ruler in their brief interactions since the war. “I hope you haven’t been too busy,” A smirk grows on his lips as he hints at their newly born child.

Long May She Reign
It had been quiet in Sylva, it probably didn't help that that Loess and there allies stealing all of Sylva's members. On the plus side Valdis and her wreched newborn were taken, leaving Mary to peace and quiet.
Sinner's scent was strong and moments later he appears, this time in his equine form. It was a rare sight, but she enjoyed them, his defined muscles peeked through rather than covered by his hound fur.
He says her name as he approaches and his tone makes her heart flutter. It makes her gut churn, feelings thay she gained towards him that she worked so hard to keep away. Regardless she stretches her maw out to gently graze his in greeting.
He speaks again, noting that he hopes she hadn't been too busy. A smirk grew on her maw at the comment, not as busy as you. Her comment solely in regards to the recent challeng, the pending battle that would decide there fate in Sylva.
She didn't even ponder the idea of leaving, having full faith that he would win the battle. The crown is so close huh? Are you nervous for the battle? She asks to gauge his emotions towards the current events.

Sinner did not mind the tension that continued to grow between Loess and Sylva. It only motivated him even further to destroy what was left of the falling kingdom. Loyalty would be fickle when their strength was falling. Even he had seen his own members slip into the quiet, but there would always be those dedicated. Ruinam is one he thinks of often even if he does not remain within Sylva, but they would always find a loyal servant in the stallion—an ally they could always rely on.
With the problems that remain unsolved, he knows Castile will have a harder time to remain on the throne. The war had only fed satisfaction for blood. It opened new wounds for those that might have lost someone. He does not feel the peace in the air but calling for a second reckoning. A reckoning that even meant his own position over Sylva. Sinner does not fear the outcome though. He knows the autumn kingdom will always be here, and he will live for a thousand of years until he destroys every obstacle to become the king he was meant to be.
Time is all he had, truly.
Mary reaches out to greet him. He welcomes the warm of her mouth. Her gentle touch is welcoming, and he remembers the very nature of their encounter before the war. It had been hot and filled with excitement. It brings an instant smirk to his face as he recalls those brief minutes. To him it felt like a lifetime of pure satisfaction. It was these moments he enjoyed the most—the lust and satisfaction of finally getting what he wanted were overwhelming at times.
The hound’s eyes flicker with confidence at the mention of the challenge. He glances to the different parts of the kingdom, at least to what he can see. It would be natural for him to be afraid of the battle he has challenged the dragon-king to, but nothing in his mind or body makes him feel afraid. He only feels hunger—an appetite that has been left unsatisfied for so long until now.
Sinner turns back to look at Mary. A smile lifts his lips with a gentle touch of mischief gleaming in his nutmeg colored eyes. “It would be foolish to be afraid for what I have put myself in,” he says. The battle seemed so far away, but it was closer than ever now. “I’ve waited too long for this, Mary.” He pauses for a moment, making sure to meet Mary’s own gaze. “We have waited too long for this.” Sometimes he forgets himself—how selfish he can be, but it is only natural for the hound to think of himself. It would always be himself in the end though. He would never have ties or be held back by another just as he was when the masters from hell had created him.
“I am more than ever ready for the battle.” The battle that determined both of their fates. It felt like a heavy burden to carry, but he did not feel the weight of it. Life would move on, and he would find his way back again. “We will finally have what we waited for.” He mentions again. “What we have deserved all along.” His eyes narrow at the thought of them being so patient these last years. It was finally their time. Finally, their part to take the crown. To take what was theirs all along.

Long May She Reign
The war that Castile brought upon beqanna has stirred many emotions, pinning many kingdoms against him. Even if Sinner and Mary are not the ones to dethrone him, he will be. She knows crowning Sylva the kingdom is what is deserved, but only time will determine her fate.
Sinner so selflessly chose himself to battle Castile, a better option with his matching traits. The hound was dedicated to get what he wanted, regardless of what he had to destroy to get it. She has full faith in Sinner, she can only wonder what will happen to the pair should they lose the home they come to grow together.
Her thoughts melt away as his muzzle returns the greeting. The warmth and scent fill her nares and her heart beats fast only for a moment. She controls herself, it is only a matter of time before the hound notices her behavioral changes around him, no matter how hard she tries to hide them.
When he speaks he pulls her mind back to the battle, and when he speaks she finds herself mesmerized. He notes he is not afraid, that this is what they have fought for, for so long. A grin grows on her maw, she had always admired there relationship on the throne. The pair seemed unstoppable, there minds always similar and where Mary faltered, Sinner was the strength.
She steps closer to the bay stag, her body settling against his. I know you will give Sylva justice, and once we are crowned the kingdom we will build Sylva back to what it was before Loess and its henchman stole our members. Shs gently grazes her maw against the muscle on his shoulder. She would savor these moments, for they may be the last the pair gets.

there is but one rule hunt or be hunted
Sinner doesn’t think about losing. He thinks about the bloodshed, tearing Castile limb from limb. The taste of victory with every bite and every broken bone he mends together to create a step towards his crown.
It would be foolish to think about losing, but it was also not him to think about it otherwise. Sinner was a creature of confidence. He was fueled by his pride and his desire to get what he wanted. Everything else was a simple stepstone. A simple step towards his ascending to something better.
If they are to lose the challenge and Sylva, then so be it.
There would always be other ways.
There would always be time when you have forever.
Mary closes the distance between them. Her warm body presses against him gently. Sinner doesn’t protest it. It was what he needed now, the warmth of a woman before he heads into battle.
He listens carefully, but his mind flickers elsewhere as she gently touches her muzzle against his muscular shoulder. It was hard to deny her in these moments, but he cannot allow himself to fall into lustful temptations. Every part of them needed to focus on the battle ahead.
But there was nothing wrong with enjoying her every touch and the warmth that came with it. Sinner runs his dark muzzle along her neck, tracing along the curve of her mane. “It will be better than anything Beqanna has seen,” he whispers softly, imaging Sylva in all his grand and glory. Sylva would be everything no other kingdom could be.
