a couple of drinks to numb the pain; wolfbane, any - Titus - 07-04-2018 The world was a bright and beautiful place through the very eyes of a child. In some ways it was a blessing to be born, unknowing of the world in its mixed ways of beauty and disaster. As a child you were born with a clean slate, a past that did not hold you down or obligations to keep you in one place. However, there are circumstances that can shape and rip at a child’s blank canvas, creating a masterpiece or a mere disaster. There are many opportunities for when you are merely a blank slate. As for Titus, he had been one of the lucky ones. He was born with two parents that shared a relationship that was close and filled with love. He would say he had been extra blessed to have a twin sister, though he would tell you he was the favorite one since he was born first. In addition to being a lucky one, Titus had been born in a kingdom (Nerine) that was warm, beautiful, and shared a positive attitude towards the world. They valued strength and loyalty above all else. His parents, Porcia and Rome, surely played a major part within his upbringing about the world and all that it held. However, it had only been a short time before he had been ripped away—before he had been torn away from all that he knew and loved. She had taken them—a mare that was desperate to love, but also to please someone. He knew little of why they had been taken, but he had only gone because the mare had threatened to hurt Venus. His own sister meant everything to him, and he would do anything to make sure she was well-protected. But what was a small child supposed to do? He was barely old enough to survive on his own before being kidnapped. There had been no chance for him to fight off the kidnapping mare and to stop the other kidnappers from separating him from his twin sister before bringing him to the place he knows now by as Loess. But they had forgotten about him. They had left him within the darkness, barely enough to handle the entire situation he was going through. How was he to cope with the changes of his life? Who could he even turn to get a helping hand? There was no one. No one was here he could trust—he learned that quickly. Within the shadows he had watched them, churning and changing as most kingdoms rise up and fall. He watched with young eyes as the once leader, Arthas, had passed the crown to another younger stallion known as Wolfbane. The new leadership brought change, it brought a band of mercenaries together—a group of horses that had long not touched the very lands of Beqanna. He knows the stories of mercenaries, but they are only stories now—at one point they had been real, but history does not always remain reliable, especially as the years are brought further apart. He knows he cannot remain within the shadows any longer. It has been months now since he has been here, and he definitely knows he is reaching the first year of his life. Titus finds the right timing is now (he has long waited within the shadows, calculating a plan to escape, or perhaps to even stay). There was a change within the wind, and within him. As he steps out into the common clearing of Loess, he reminds himself of one thing—do not trust anyone. @[Wolfbane] RE: a couple of drinks to numb the pain; wolfbane, any - Sawtooth - 07-11-2018 Sawtooth has heard the stories about her mother and father. Stories about their love for one another and stories about their herd of children they’d happily raised. But stories could only carry her so far - about as far as a cloud in fact, even though clouds can go very far.
It’s just that her mind would drift off on a path different from the cloud’s. Really she was too little to say if their stories or the mingling of their blood in her veins had shaped her beyond the semi-wild thing that she was, just running all about. Wound was the only one to rein her in so far.
Sawtooth came and went —
Tephra. Loess. The playground. It was only a matter of time before she truly began to explore but neither a wolf nor a horse know it have true boundaries but fences and man. Neither of which are likely to ever be encountered in this strange but amazing world. So the feral child does as she pleases until Mama-Wound has something to say about it.
Except mama-mare has been missing so Sawtooth takes advantage of this fact by spending more than her fair share of time here rather than in Tephra. The hills delight her endlessly as she scrambled from rock to rock in the form of a scruffy black wolf pup. What transpires here beyond the most basic fact that her older brother is king are things that she gives no thought too. Political intricacies and intrigue do not thrill her - not yet and maybe never. But the hardy green things that grow her like saplings that snap back when she tries to wrestle them to the ground and the rocky hills that challenge her to stay fit and fast on her feet... ahhhh.
Sawtooth gives a short bark of happiness as she takes a daring leap from one big fat boulder to the next. She perched upon the second boulder and surveys as much of the kingdom as she can from her perch. They come and go, reminding her of ants in their dreary March until the sheer boredom of watching them finds a sigh leaving her fanged mouth. She goes sliding off the rock in a sloppy lazy manner of liquid bones and black fur before bounding off towards the main clearing.
As she goes, her nose works fast and furious with every wet suck of breath into her lungs. Hmmm... there is a familiar scent in the air - one that she has smelled before. Then there is a familiar face and this time he looks more horse than half that and half cat-thing that he was. Sawtooth is almost certain he won’t recognize her as she circles behind him then plants herself rather firmly right in front of him. “What are you doing here?”
Again, no tact - no tact at all.
@[Titus] <3 RE: a couple of drinks to numb the pain; wolfbane, any - Wolfbane - 07-13-2018 - Are you thinking of me when you love him? - WOLFBANE @[Sawtooth] @[Titus] sorry for the wait <3 RE: a couple of drinks to numb the pain; wolfbane, any - Titus - 07-19-2018 Titus surveys the common area of Loess from where he stands. He is distracted by the unfamiliarity of faces and even being out in the wide open area. While he investigates the kingdom of Loess, his thoughts work slowly, calculating a plan to escape if he is going to getting out of here alive. And damn it, he would get out of here whether alive or not! It seems that would not be the plan for today for him. The winged boy quickly holds his ground has the young she-wolf plants herself firmly within his space. He isn’t spooked out by the she-wolf coming up to him, in fact, he is quite familiar with shifters since he is one himself. However, she is quick to ask what he is doing here, and that bothers him even more. Titus almost feels disappointed that this so-called resident, from the way she smells and comes up to him, doesn’t even know he is a prisoner here. But he is quick to forget that, and slips into a more causal act on (as best as any amateur actor can). “I belong here,” he says firmly, yet it sounds strange and unfamiliar for him to say that. Loess was not his home. He didn’t belong here. The boy had never wanted to come here in the first place. The beach and humid jungle was his home. Nerine was where he was meant to be. “What does it mean to you anyway?” He asks with step in front, pushing up against her. “There you are,” comes an unfamiliar voice not far from them. Titus quickly sinks back in his precious position and then takes a step back before he realizes who had approached them. Wolfbane. He doesn’t need any introductions to the newest crowned leader of Loess. Titus has already appointed himself the master of information here, a spy they probably didn’t know they had (but he is rather harmless in it all really). He made damn sure he knew what was happening in regards to the politics and events of Loess—the new crowned leader was certainly at the top of the gossip in Loess and even outside. Titus lets out a soft laugh at the older male’s joke. “Don’t worry, I wouldn’t have let her eaten me without a good fight.” Titus turns his gaze to Sawtooth with a soft smirk. He would not be taken down like a coward—the winged boy would have fought the little bug-eyed pup off with ease if it needed to come to that. The stripped stallion settles before them. Obviously making the connection that these two are familiar with each other—he carefully notes that and remembers it. “Finally we meet, Wolfbane,” he says with a wide grin. “Of course I am supposed to be here.” It wouldn’t be this way if he could have his own way but that chance had been taken away. “My name is Titus, and I’ve been here for a while now.” What else was he going to say? Titus didn’t want to hand him the keys to all the information he had so easily. It probably wasn’t even worth mentioning that he was actually from Nerine and he had been kidnapped by some crazy mare who was likely dead for all he knew. @[Sawtooth] @[Wolfbane] RE: a couple of drinks to numb the pain; wolfbane, any - Sawtooth - 08-21-2018 The little wolf bristles as he pushes up against her and she bares her teeth at him. Her front lowers to the ground as her jaws work up a threatening slaver as she snarls out an “Oh really?” She doesn’t believe him. Oh he’s convincing enough but it still doesn’t seem right to her even though her snarls soften to growls.
Big brother comes.
Maybe to save the day.
Maybe not.
Sawtooth tucks her tail between her legs the instant he tells her to stop eating the residents. It’s all in jest of course! She’d hardly find the bony colt all that appealing as a snack.
The very next moment finds her winding sinuously between his legs to tug on his long pale tail. “Sorry,” she mumbles happily through tail-hair and clenched teeth, and not the least bit sorry at all.
She’s rather full of herself.
Sometimes.
Must run in the blood.
Sawtooth sprawls our underneath her brother’s golden belly. She lays her head on her paws but can still keep a fairly good eye on the familiar colt. Since she’s decided that he must be the cat-colt from the playground. It helps that she’s only met one colt in her entire short life so it’s got to be him.
Plus a wolf’s nose never lies.
However his cat-senses must suck if he doesn’t recognize her.
Her tongue lolls out from a grinning mouth as he responds to her brother with boyish machismo. Good fight? Pah! He wasn’t worth eating anyway, she decides. Though it would be interesting to see who would come out the victor... ah, but in the end, Sawtooth is just a lover. A very cute bite-y bundle of wolf-love.
“Where’s your mom?” she blurts out, rolling over to bat at her brother’s belly-hairs with her paws.
@[Titus] @[Wolfbane] she’s a first little brat! lmfao |
