Drip Drip [Any] - MoonFeather - 01-01-2018 The forest folded around those that sought its sanctuary its branches willing to hide and embrace the things that wanted to be there. MoonFeather had tucked herself into this land and after a journey to the field had proven a distraction and a welcome one she came back to the woods. The draft mare fell into following a wandering herd of elk that called the forest, the field, and the meadow their roaming homes. Moon fell into line and was just happy to roam with them. The bulls did not bother the large mare and the cows did not find the horse a threat either. Autumn had brought with it the rut season in the herd and they had gathered in the large open areas of the forest or the meadow. The bulls had made their calls to battle and the clash of antlers had rung out through the lands. MoonFeather had watched it all with a passing interest. Cows in the herds gave the victors the run around seeing if they were really worthy of passing on their family line. The chaos of it all ended with the first winds of winter that tossed up the frost. Moon settled into the relaxed life once more as the cows and bulls separated once more into their social casts. The forest was a fine winter home the branches above held back the deeper snow but, this was a double edged sword. The snow might not have been a problem in these places but there was little grazing to be had. Though all one needed to to was keep moving and searching. Moon stood amongst her adoptive family and grazed at the edge of the trees. The start of winter meant that the snow had yet gripped the life out of the land and so they all wandered slowly. Moon stood with her head raised watching out for a moment. The mares winter coat had come in fine leaving her looking like an exploded cattail almost. Her ears twitched a couple times listening to the world around her at the moment. Her ears flicked a bit more as others around her shifted with an unease. The herd seemed to pause a moment but, that could have just been something of a trick of time. The mare herd first the stomping of a couple cows and then a call. Moon stuck her own nose into the air and scented what was making the herd shift and pause, then shift again and cows called to calves that were from last year to them. A language that all pray knew spoke through them all and Moon flicked her ears a bit more and swung her tail with annoyance. Her ears pinned a couple times and she arched her neck and stomped her own large hoof to the ground. She thought the scent of a predator came to her nostrils but something else came to her. It was an equine scent and as she was bumped into by another cow she turned her head and nipped at the offending elk. Moon could not fault them for being on edge and ready to stampede with something that smelled so much like a wolf in their midst. The mare stomped once more and the elk gave the horse space the crunch of a leaf came to her ears. Moon swung her ears first and then the rest of her followed the sound and her green eyes scanned around for the source of the sound. The elk closest to her had not missed that noise as well and a bark went up from one of the cows, then another, and then another. The herd barked and then the thunder started. All it takes is one nervous creature to start a stampede and that is indeed what had started the herd running. Moon snorted as the bodies of brown ran past and around her. She stood her ground planting her feet as they swept past her; her ears and eyes focused. The marked mare could hear nothing over the thundering of the herd but she could try to scan with her eyes for what might have set them off. @[Cyrus]

I'd totally understand if she's mad at him though lol. He's still trying to figure out the whole wolf thing RE: Drip Drip [Any] - MoonFeather - 01-01-2018 A hard snort passed her red painted nostrils as she locked eyes on what had sent the herd into its stampede. Moon knew the shape of the one before her and she knew their scent but, something mixed with the canine. Moon could not be sure it was not just the wind playing tricks on her though and she stood looking at the wolf. The draft mare stomped her foot once more firmly on the frost crusted ground. She was young and still able to run, and this wolf looked young so the white mare had that in her favor. She stood ears back looking at the canine her tail swinging in an agitated manner. She broke eye contact though as she knew these animals moved in packs always. Where there was one wolf another was not far behind. Moonfeather made sure that her movements were sharp as she looked around and scented the air more before those green eyes looked once more upon the young wolf. So, here they stood a large white gray mare, and the purple coated young wolf. @[Cyrus] [OOC] Nah its ok the herd just fills in what little interaction she has with horses. Also, just assuming that Cyrus is the same color as described in his profile. RE: Drip Drip [Any] - Cyrus - 01-06-2018 C Y R U S The Spirit Wolf @[MoonFeather] sry for wait |
