Newcomer- Haliaka - Haliaka - 10-04-2016 The journey here had felt so short. Only a wisp of memory kept of the travels. She supposed the mere excitement of seeing the ocean was keeping her mind busy. With the company of the silver mare, and her added internal expectations of the sea she found herself quite pleased with the salty air. The wind whipped silver strands into her hazel eyes, but she did not mind it. She kept her hues glued to the vast blue before her. Admiring it in all of its mysterious beauty. It was so different from where she had stayed these past weeks. It was calm and quiet, not so much teaming with noise. The soft song of the sea calmed her, welcomed her almost. The way the waves lapped at the shore, mixed with the dark blue of the water that held so much beneath it intrigued her. In her mind, there was no doubt that if she was asked to stay , what the answer would be. ooc: Short post >.< RE: Newcomer- Haliaka - Djinni - 10-04-2016 As they come closer to the sea, Djinni can sense it. There is something more than the tang of salt in the air and the cry of distant gulls over the deep rumble of waves. There is something more, a half-familiar singing in her bones that is both of the sea and of something far older. She's not felt it since she was a newborn, dropped lifeless onto the golden sand of the Desert. Has it come back for her? The grullo mare pushes the thought - and the sensation - to the back of her mind. She is focused on the warm eyed mare beside her. Haliaka wants to see the ocean, and Djinni is here to show it to her. They've stopped on the cliff tops, a few meters from the zigzagging path down to the shoreline. They cannot yet touch the sea, but it spreads out beneath and before them, glistening. It had been iron grey during the winter months, but slowly - so slowly - the warmth of spring and summer sun have brought an emerald gleam to the waters. The green against the granite sand is a breathtaking sight, and unbeknownst to her, Djinni's dark eyes lighten until they match the sea green water. "What do you think, Haliaka?" She asks with a smile, stretching to bump her shoulder companionably against the brown mare's side. "I think there are some dolphins down the coast a bit there". She gestures with her muzzle. |
