Who was this? The scent was semi familiar but distant. Globes used the moonlight to scan the forest. Satellites tuned to even the slightest of sounds. Gently and nearly silently pillars began to move forth. Nares searching for the scent as she picked her way through the brush with ease... The scent grew stronger as she neared a small figure in the shadows. Globes wide eyed she halted. Studying the figure. The sleek frame told her it was a young filly. She was the hue of the moon that hung high above. Almost had a shine that glistened like the stars. Figuring she shouldn't be out this late alone had curiosity written all over it... Like minded they were. Wanting a home but seeked independence and a thirst for adventure. She knew this all too well for she set out on her own adventures at a very young age. She also knew the wrath that awaited her upon her return to a worried mother and angered father... Her father saw this as rebellious actions and much punishment awaited her each time she was caught. She hoped the same fate did not come of this youngin. Weighing her options on how to address the situation she decided to watch from a distance. Ensure her safety but let her feed her curiosity... In this case, it was the Eastern borders that had his attention. The Taiga rests as a central part of the forest system of Beqanna; it is the spine and the lifeblood that brings protection and oxygen to anyone who chooses to rest beneath it's trees. The sooty spotted boy grew ever more impressive by the months that dragged on, and his mother Reagan was giving him more freedom to go along with his age and size--as long as he didn't wander off too far. And such was the case with this-- It was night, and the fog that brewed underneath the canopy was almost stifling. He was unable to see much past the end of his nose, but his goals pressed him forward. The sooner he secured the borders, the sooner he could go back to the den. Unless... He smiled, his white behind dancing in the dark as he dares to take the chance that his seemingly all-knowing mother might allow him the courtesy of keeping her mind reading to herself this night. It was as if she knew something about him that he himself was unfamiliar with. She seemed, to trust him more than his other siblings... And though he made his way in the dark to this part of Beqanna for the very first time, it was as if he felt he had seen these trees somewhere else before. Something out of a dream. Or a memory. But that could not be. And so, his black fluffy tail swings on his rump and his eyes are bright as he grapples his way through the miasma. The moon is shining bright, casting eerie shadows on the place. When all of the sudden, he spots two shadowy figures standing off and to the right from him. His hackles go up, and his spine seemingly turns to jelly. This was not supposed to go this way. He lowers his ears, and tries ever so careful to sneak past them. He is still just a very little boy, after all. A little boy who wished he had his mum. OOC: tapped this out on my phone. Sorry it sucks so bad. RE: my blood is a flood of rubies; any - Sunshadow - 12-11-2016 The golden stallion walked silently through the forest lushness, his coat gleaming in the moonlight. After leaving the fields at dawn he had reached the far edge of the forest at nightfall. he smelt the scent of pastures and and water on the wind and knew he was nearing the border of Tephra. He would have to change is course. It wasn't that he didn't want to find a 'home', he was still unsure of returning to herd life and just walking into someone else's kingdom would be disrespectful. Just as he was about to change direction a familiar, unnamed scent caught him. Pricking his ears he gave a quiet snort sending billows of moisture into the cool, night air. he followed it to a small clearing where he saw a young filly, she shouldn't be out alone he thought and acted quickly, knowing all too well what it was like to be driven from a home and wished not so on this young filly. stepping into the clearing he didn't see the figure at the edge and spoke to the cream colored foal "are you sure your meant to be here young one?" he spoke softly but firm.. Sun Shadow ...I walk alone... RE: my blood is a flood of rubies; any - Neo.n - 12-12-2016 She had come from lands were order and honor reigned. Warriors were conditioned from scraps of carefree youth. She had gone through the same training but her free spirited personality clashed with her sires structured lands. So she freed both the burden of having to live in daily disappointment. Her training was useful though... She could hunt the faintest of scents, locate the distant of sounds, spot the slightest variations of the landscapes. This night was no different. Her vigilance made her well aware of the nights happenings. The wide eyed owl stationed above, a rodent scampered nearby, a family group of deer drinking at the river. Her nares flared as the winds brought new scents to her attention. She closed her globes and held her breathing so she could quiet herself to feel her surroundings... She couldn't make out specifics of each scent but enough details to know of which species and possible recent where abouts. The one scent was also distantly familiar. Smelling of a stallion she recently met in the field. A stallion who seemed troubled but refused her offer of company. Guess he had a family and this must be a member. He smelled of redwoods and so did the nearing scent. It wasn't a stagnant scent but more new, more young. She dismissed it as non-threatening and shifted investigations to the next scent. Also a scent that was recently familiar... A viewing she had from the meeting grounds. A newcomer that seemed uneasy by the night that surrounded him. 'What twas he doing lurking about at night?' She pondered the why for a moment but found any answer she could fathem irrelevant. He had seemed to submissive, too frightened, too reliant to be much of a threat. Not of one she couldn't handle. So she waited... Watching as the golden hue approached the filly. A deep feeling surfaced, a need to protect, no an instinct, ingrained deep within her geno. Was it her make or her training that was surfacing. She stoodfast... Muscle tensed and ready to act. Like a lioness waiting in the tall grasses to pounce upon unsuspecting prey. She held her position and watched cautiously. The golden one spoke to the filly in a concerned tone. A question of her location on this late of an eve. She let the interaction play out undisturbed by her. Only a deep flutter of her nares to make her presence known to the newcomer... Heed thy warning or prepare for thynes wrath DANCING NEON and i felt closer to the stars for having loved you word count: 735 -accrued points: -HTML by Call RE: my blood is a flood of rubies; any - Sunshadow - 12-12-2016 Sunshadow shot his head up upon hearing the flutter of nostrils and and the warning in their tone. His ears swiveled searching the clearing resting on the slight quiver of leaves where the horse stood, he smelt the mare scent of the horse and then the again familiar scent he had once before. Then the scent came to him, the mare in the fields who had looked down on him. Forgetting the young foal near his side he snorted into the shadows where he saw the just discernible outline of the fellow equine "i know your there" he spoke in to the night with his tail raised slightly and his neck arched, a warning to the horse in the trees that he was ready to fight but the way he kept his ears relaxed suggested his submission. Sun Shadow ...I walk alone... A flutter of nares in the form of a chuckle. Would he dare? Dont fall to your deepest of temptations... Fore bad things can happen there if not thought through carefully DANCING NEON and i felt closer to the stars for having loved you word count: 735 -accrued points: -HTML by Call RE: my blood is a flood of rubies; any - Iasan - 12-13-2016 Iasan looked up at the mare that stood next to him. Fluttering his tail back and forth on his white rump, he takes a big gulp lurches forward slowly, ears back. Quiet careful steps were taken with little hooves through the brush, trying very carefully to not make a sound. It was dark, but his memories knew just where to place his feet. The images; they seemed much older, somehow. As if he had seen these same trees years and years ago... But he was barely six months old. His ears flopped forward as he shook his head, perhaps to rid his brain of such nonsensical thoughts plaguing him. When he righted himself again, his short fluffy mane sticking straight up--much like a little boy's after he rolls out of bed--he lowers his head once more, ears flattened against his head, and he pursues his prey. Or target, in this case. He lacked the ability to turn into a wolf like his mother did. Within the forest, his family protected their pack and all who chose dominion within the Taiga--his mother and father were its Alphas, and yet, at this moment, Iasan did not feel like a prince. He felt like a scaredy cat. All of the sudden, he hears a voice on the horizon. Hello? The fog is thick and he straightens immediately, nearly jumping at the sound. Show yourself! He jumps again, the echoing bouncing off the trees and in his direction. He turns then, his profile against whatever is yelling at him. He hopes that by showing his full body, that perhaps he can make himself look bigger to scare away the monsters. His little body shivers--not with cold, but with fear. He sidesteps awkwardly, inching ever closer to the sound of the voice calling out to him. And then... He growls. Out loud. Long. Monster-like. "ROOOOAAAAARRR! I am A TREE MONSTER! I WILL SHOW YOU MYSELF" RE: my blood is a flood of rubies; any - Neo.n - 12-13-2016 She was not objective to challenges nor war if for the right reason. If for the wrong reasons your just waiting energy. She sought peace for many reasons. Looking to the young minds sorting through life and it's meaning she let it play out. Still watching over the activities. To step in if need be but she encouraged thy play she was witness to. Attention diverted back to the larger frame that stood nearer to the young ones. Would he not be so accepting of this behavior? Her pillars moved forth through the brush and neared the shadows edge. The over head lights twinkled in her globes as she stepped out into the clearing. Her presence was known to all now. Ebony tassels drifted gently upon her hide. Her muzzle lowered to the turf for a late night snack. Her gaze never leaving the interactions of the trio.
