Born to an earth god and a time travelling queen from another world, Leoniidas was born beside his twin sister into a family of love and devotion. When her parents embarked upon taking their children to meet their wider family in another world, Leo's mother's magic backfired. It split the family, leaving the newborn twins in one world and their family in another. There was no way to reunite the divided family. Worlds vast and eternal yawned between children and parents. For a time the twins struggled alone, until they two were parted.

Leoniidas spent his time alone in the wilds of his birth land. The boy soon forget what it was to have parents, what it was to know another horse, or to have a sister to love. The boy grew wild, a feral creature unaccustomed to society's demands. At first he met a girl, a fair unicorn with silver skin, so much like the moon he slept beneath. She enchanted him, this girl of moonlight and soft light. She drew him out of the wilderness and in toward the towns and cities of her home.

But Leo was a wild boy who knew nothing about living in groups or societies. He knew nothing of girls (he still knows nothing). They roamed together, the unicorn and Leoniidas. He grew to love her - not that he knew what those complex emotions were, only that he wanted to be nearer to her, touching her, listening to her laugh, watching her smile. But ah, it was not to be, for when the boy and the unicorn girl travelled to another world, chasing their families across moons and stars and galaxies, they found only trouble and death.

Leoniidas magic was to speed up time, his twin's magic in kind was to slow it down. In the new world Leoniidas' magic sped up, up, up, slipping from his grasp speeding out of control at the whim of the new world. A friend he had Elliana was with him, the only girl untouched by his racing magic. Days skipped by in seconds, and, in a matter of moments, a lifetime had flown by. All those Elliana and Leoniidas knew and loved were gone, long dead.

Crippled with grief, together the young friends fled the cursed world, leaving the pieces of their hearts broken where Leo's magic cast its terrible curse.

Now Elli and Leo have come to the shores of her mothers birthland.
