Wound was born as the fourth child from Defect and Lokii (Sept 2016). Her mother was very neglectful, ignoring her children immediately following the end of their weaning process. Wound never knew of her father, neither his name nor his behavior, but she found fatherly-figures in her three older brothers. Malfunction, Smear, and Skid all took Wound into their care in her youth and protected her. The band of siblings traveled from one abandoned forest to another within Beqanna, never staying in one place for very long.

She spent about a year or two separate from her brothers, once she grew up, before arriving in the Field one day (Oct 2017). There she met a fanged mare named Femur who brought her to Tephra, a volcanic island not far off of Beqanna’s shore. When she first crossed onto Tephra’s shoreline, Wound was immediately greeted by Femur’s mate, Longclaw. She found comfort in their friendship, which helped expand her shy, nervous personality into a bolder, brighter one.

In her first year in Tephra (Nov 2017), Wound happened upon Warrick, the Overseer of Tephra at the time, in the midst of the night. Their deep friendship would blossom from there, fortified over their love for Tephra. Wound found herself joining the diplomatic rankings of Tephra, unable to participate as a soldier due to her physical deformities, and even pushed through with her duties into her pregnancy with Warrick’s daughter.

A few years into her residency in Tephra, she gave birth to Wishbone (Jan 2018). Her wild daughter quickly became one of her deepest, yet most frustrating, loves. She visited both Loess and Hyaline with Wishbone at her side, easily moving through Tephra’s ranks until she became Head of Peace (Apr 2018). However, over the years, Wound began to harbor a romantic affection for Warrick. She was forced to confront this love head-on in a tender conversation with her friend one night, of which Warrick was thereby forced to admit he could not love her in the way she wished (May 2018). Still, Wound’s heart longed for companionship so she pushed herself to move past Warrick and wait for someone else worthy of her affections.

In that same year of confession, Wound came across a peculiar situation on Tephra’s border. A magic mare, Harmonia, arrived with her daughter, Ajatar, under mind control. Harmonia threatened Tephra’s safety with Wound, Warrick, Longclaw, and Kromium all present. In the end, Longclaw protected Tephra with his life and Wound received second- and third-degree burns across the left side of her body. The loss of her close friend affected Wound deeply.

A year later, disaster struck in Wound’s life (June 2018). Two Sylvan stallions, Crevan and Maugrim, were sent by Modicum Mortem, the Sylvan king at the time, to steal her away from Tephra. Wound invited the two onto Tephra’s shores in good heart, but they both attacked her and brought her to Sylva. Wound was kept in a cavern beside a lake within Sylva, maintained by Maugrim and his partner Nexu. She was tortured for several months in Sylva, both physically and emotionally. Modicum Mortem came to her in the fall and raped her, producing her second child, Vadar, who was born in the cavern (July 2018).

Eventually, Wound escaped Sylva and made it back to Tephra. However, the physical and emotional damage from her imprisonment destroyed most of the mare previously. Wound did her very best to care for both Vadar and Sawtooth, Femur’s daughter who Wound adopted when Femur passed away (Aug 2018). Rather than returning to Tephra and reuniting with Warrick, Wound disappeared into the hidden corners of Beqanna once her children were old enough to care for themselves.
