Cagney was left by his mother as a child in the Playground on the way to the Tundra. He got lost trying to leave the Playground to go to the Tundra, since no Tundra foals ever visited, and ending up living in the Meadow. He was afraid to go to the Tundra because he didn’t think Brennen would accept him as his son because he was too normal. When he was half-grown, he ended up being summoned by a Faerie to a quest, where he won Temporal Manipulation. Returning to the Meadow, he met Elite and was fascinated by her, and emboldened enough to make the journey to the Tundra. He pledged himself to the Brotherhood to impress Brennen, though he remained fascinated by Elite. At some point she bore him a son, Vader, who came to live with him in the Tundra.

Shortly before the world went to war against the Valley, Cagney chose to visit Elite again, begging her to run away or escape with him so that the other Kingdoms could not come after her. She did not agree. A few days later the Tundra marched with the Deserts, the Falls, the Jungle, the Dale, and the Chamber on the Valley. Cagney left his Brothers to find Elite - who agreed to fight Nocturnal to the death with no traits. Cagney was distraught, knowing that Elite might be carrying his second child. When Elite started screaming, Cagney assumed that Nocturnal had cheated in some way. He stopped time, somehow dragged Elite away, and hid her in the Tundra. While she was unconscious their second child was born, a daughter. Cagney did his best to raise his children but was mostly preoccupied with Elite's care. When she woke he was estatic, and then heartbroken when she left them. He never really recovered. Hasn't been seen since the Reckoning destroyed the Tundra.
