    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

And she is rather certain her mother is occupied with other activities. Svana is nearly a year and a half and does not require much watching as she explores Loess on her own. Uncle Castile and Uncle Bron are usually seen together discussing the ins and outs of the wooded land. Svana passed her time playfully squealing her young girl giggles as she runs under and around her Grandpa Lior. Grandma Nayl would snuggle her close and smooth her gold and blue hair before giving her a playful nip on her black rump and send her off in a jumble of lanky legs and leathery wings.

A charmed child charmed, Svana is blessed by the kelpie gifts of glittering beauty, underwater breathing and the ability to dive deep into the waters and shift to that of a finned form of black and gold. She is the apple of her mother's eye...that is why she was brought to Loess when Isobell had told her it was time for her to meet the dragons of her blood (the very ones that contributed to the dragon wings upon her small spine).

Svana lazes by the water's edge with one of her small wings extended, drawing in the sand. They were not strong enough yet to carry her but they were growing every day. Uncle Castile had promised to show her how to fly once she was bigger (and mother allowed). Winter was chilly but the sun warmed her small frame quite enough to be comfortable and the rhythmic sound of the water was a pretty lullaby. Nearby, a cornflower reaches desperately between a few rocks, and Svana can not resist to press her nose to the velvet petals for a little sniff. There was not much to gain except some pollen on her lips and the hue of the very same blue from where she had youched the bloom...such an interesting gift to have inherited from somewhere in her bloodlines.

    remember you could weep fire
It was a bit of a challenge, learning to become a bigger help to her brother and his kingdom. Being a diplomat takes hard work and keen speech, but her honeyed words would serve her well. Valera had just wandered her way back from the field, it had been an unsuccessful recruiting trip, but she hoped for better luck her next time around. She could not expect to nail her first  experience, though she hoped she would. She gives a quiet huff, steam whisks away into the cool air in swirling tendrils. This was going to be hard, but she had faith in herself that she too could be great like her siblings and parents before her.

A light snow flurry encapsulates the rocky landscape, Loess looking as if it were trapped inside of a lightly shaken snow globe. She had to admit, she quite liked it. It was her first winter here, and it was not as bad as she thought it would be. She trots carefully along a rocky path that lead toward her favorite spot overlooking the sea. So happy to finally feel at home, she takes in the scenery. She swears she can spot multiple family members milling around, faces she knows, and some she doesn't. Though it's not long before a small yet striking figure catches her clementine eyes. She smiles, making her way down to the young mare. She had to admit, she had never seen this filly before, but her painted body and dragon wings hinted kinship.

Valera smiles as she sees the sun kissed girl begin to turn color as she presses her small lips to one of the last flowers to grace the frozen landscape. A loving voice practically sings from between pink velveteen lips. Hello young one, my name is Valera. This may seem a strange question, but...are you of the dragon kin? She is forward for sure, as usual. She was not one to tip toe around when it came to questions, and she may have to work on that. But she can't help but ask. It is not hard for her to tell when she has found another member of her family. She extends her muzzle in greeting, half wanting to rush the delicate girl and lock her into a loving embrace before she can even get out her answer, but she holds back the urge until she knows for sure. Last thing she wants is to scare someone who isn't family to hit the bricks after some crazy golden woman tries to hug them to death...instead she waits patiently with a soft smile and bright eyes.
