    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

no matter what they say, I am still the king

He never ventured into the territories of Beqanna often. Not this Beqanna, anyway. He was content to roam - the rivers and forests, and the beach with it’s bloodied sand. But never the territories - they were simply not all that appealing to him anymore (politics and procedures; niceties and introductions - such a bore). This time, though, maybe things would be different.

This time change was imminent. Something had to give. The plague roiled through Beqanna, a storm hell bent on destruction- and few lands were safe. Pangea, was ground zero - its (very few) members cursed to bleed and rot for the land. He had been gone for so long, decades this time (and yet, he has returned again). Things were different now - and He knew he must change with them, he must be a different type of leader this time. Not absent and wavering - but someone who could build things up from ash and dust. He had done it once, He could do it again.

That meant niceities, pleasentries - forging alliances and kindships like a soft fabric. That meant visiting other lands, no matter how few and far between he desired to.

This time, it was Taiga - just over the border from Pangea (not too terribly far away to start).

Guardian. His words echoed silently throughout the land - finding her mind and settling in to rest.
Then - He waits. She would come, he assumes.

(now, the storm is coming in)

This is awful and I am sorry ):
