    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Biting’s excellent. It’s like kissing, only there’s a winner.

The green mare does what she does best - avoid other horses, just by staring them down. Her run-in with the sick filly might be her downfall, or just grazing where someone sneezed. She couldn’t let it bother her; if this Plague would kill her then at least she wouldn’t have to deal with all the sickness and misery any longer. And if it didn’t, she figured some do-gooder would be running around healing people. Juuust has to wait and see and join the line. Nothing too bad about all this.

No, she refused to give in and panic. So, she stood among them yet aside from them, and patiently waited if she would catch a disease or not. Or, rather, didn’t want to think of it.

Munching on what was left of the brown winter grass of the meadow, she flicked her tail and pretended not to notice the spreading sickness.
