    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Dancing in the Sun; Cessna
    #1

The sun was just starting to peek out, showing its lovely face to the world. The sky was filled with pinks and oranges and there was not a cloud in sight. It was almost like the sun was setting the sky ablaze. This was Koa's favorite part of the day because it reminded her of home. Her homelands had this cliff that she would go to every morning and watch the sunrise. Often her parents or another member of the herd would join her to watch the special moment. Moments like that were when she got to know the herd members. They were her family. Thoughts crept into her mind about her departure from her home. She often wondered why she left such a great place, but deep down she knew. It was to find out who she was, not what others wanted her to be. She shook her head to get rid of these thoughts and bring her mind back to the present.

This was the first place in these new lands that she had found that could remotely compare to her home. Not that she had been in this new place that long. She knew she was in the meadow and she liked it so far. Her golden leg bars flickered in the sun as she walked through the tall grasses. It was almost like a beacon inviting others to her. Her coat started to become dark with dew as the wetness transferred from the thick grass to her legs and stomach. It was cold but refreshing. There was a slight breeze, lazily swinging through the open space. It took her white mane and blew it over her delicate face, making her look beautiful and wild at the same time. Her amber eyes never left the sunrise as she picked her way to a better spot.

She finally spotted the perfect place. It was a bigger hill in the middle of the meadow, with a few trees on top of it. She new she had to hurry if she wanted to see the sun fully rise over the land. She broke into a trot and easily reached the hill in a few seconds. Her amber eyes flicked over the land for a few seconds, scanning her surroundings just in case she saw something else. She didn't and her orbs when back to the sunrise. The sun was going to break over the meadow at any moment and a smile crossed her face.
