    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

the first time he calls you holy, you laugh it back so hard your sides hurt.
the second time, you moan gospel around his fingers between your teeth.

Something about the ocean awakens a primal fear within her, though she’s not entirely sure why. Her muscles remain tense and poised to sprint away as she slips across the gray sand. Every step is careful and calculated as she nears the maze of caves. Curiosity always found a welcome home in her and she knew she had to see this place when she heard other Leviathans mention it. Virgo sucks in a sharp breath when the waves lap against her ankles, ice cold and biting at her skin. Maybe she should have come here during the day instead of the dead of night.

The moon hangs fat and full in the sky above her, making it just bright enough to see the mouth of the nearest cave. The water kisses against her ankles once more but she continues on despite it. If it gets too cold, she can always turn back and leave. Virgo reaches out carefully when it becomes pitch black until her lips brush against the wall of the cave. She turns left and keeps her shoulder to the wall to navigate herself. Occasionally the wall juts out enough to graze against the barbs lining her back, making an awful scraping noise that causes her to hesitate.

Without the wind to tangle itself in her mane, it’s almost pleasant in here. She hasn’t grown accustomed to the winters in the north so she finds it more comfortable here in the dark. Outside, the world is covered in snow and everything is noisy with all the chatter of politics and daily life. But in here, she can only catch the sound of the waters beating against the cave walls and her own breathing. Virgo comes to a stop when she realizes she has no idea where to go next. There are too many options in this chamber and she fears getting lost.

The girl turns and sighs, her breath puffing white into the air before her, though she can’t see it.
    Virgo
you will ruin him and he will thank you; he will say please.
