    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Quand on n'a que l'amour - Arden
    #1
There is no denying that she has been an awful mother. Not only to Byrne, but to little Arden as well. She had taken the pink girl in when her mother had been nowhere within sight, she had given the girl a home, a family, as dysfunctional it might be, but upon disappearing Amorette had taken that all from her too. It had never been her intention, but that is no excuse either.

The ebony lady knows that both children don’t need her anymore, at least, not in the day-to-day business of life. With autumn setting in, both are, or would soon be, half a year old. Old enough to start venturing out more and more often. Well, not outside of Tephra, since Warrick had the kingdom on lockout, but there is enough of Tephra to explore as well.

As for now, Amorette is hoping that Arden is open to exploring some parts of her beloved home together. If the filly would want her close that is. There are many things she would want to show and share. From the heated pond – which Arden probably has already discovered herself – to the many caves and tunnels of the volcano. And if Arden didn’t like those places, Amore would gladly take her elsewhere too. Wherever the girl might desire to go.

“Arden?” she gently calls, roaming across Tephra’s meadow as she is searching for the pink-bay girl. She does not know where Arden usually hangs out, what her favourite spots in Tephra are, but Amorette is dying to find out. She might not have been the best mother, but she sure as hell wants to make up for it, if Arden would give her another chance.

Was she mad at her? Arden was confused as to where Amorette has gone off to. One day she was here, and the next she was gone. She was glad to have Byrne, he at least occupied her regardless if he wanted her around him or not. She had not had the chance to explore much of Tephra aside from where Byrne traveled, she was much to timid to venture out on her own.

Although today was unlike any other, she would be a yearling soon and she needed to grow more courage. To escape her comfort zone, she needed to be pushed to the edge, besides she was in Tephra. What would she run into that would be unsafe in her own kingdom?

She frolicked in the meadow of Tephra, she chased after a few butterflies, but she was no match for them. They quickly floated into the sky away from her reach. Her attention than quickly flickered to a gopher, he was minding his own business grazing on the grass much like Arden enjoyed. She crept up on him but eventually he noticed her and ran off, she gave a chase but gave up once bored. She was casually walking when she heard her name, her ears flicked to the source. Could it be? Was it Amorette?

Momma! She yelled out, her body quickly turned to the source of the sound and in the distance she could make out the ebony mare with gold streaks. She did not care why she left, she was back and she was overcome with joy. She only came to a halt when she was beside the ebony mare, she nuzzles into her shoulder Momma, I missed you. that was all that she needed to say, she missed her dearly and was beyond happy she has returned.
