    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

There is no denying that she isn’t a busy mom. But she isn’t only a mother, though sometimes she wishes those were her only duties. Don’t get it wrong, the ebony and golden woman loves her home, and becoming a mother hadn’t changed her desire to help build and from Tephra, but sometimes it is nice to not have to worry about being the Overseer’s right-hand, and focus on her children solely. She makes sure to make time for them on regular base.

Or child, in its singular form, like she had planned for today. Amorette does not favour one of her children above the other, but that does not mean she has no desire to spend one-on-one time with her son.

His flaming silhouette is in the center of her view, and she is slowly sneaking upon him from behind. Her lips curl up into a smile, unable to not find joy in playing with her son. Her baby boy. ”Booh” she whispers playfully from behind him, just moments before her warm breath ghosts across his rump. Amorette does not hesitate to nuzzle his back, carefully avoiding his withers from where the flames sprout all the way to his poll.

”Are you ready for an adventure, baby boy?” She asks with an excited smile. Her eyes twinkle almost mischievous, more than ready to show some of Beqanna’s treasures with her baby boy.

As the days passed by into weeks and months, the colt felt his inner desire to seek out his mother ebbing from his conscious thought. He looked for her less, and found that he was developing his own scent that was unique from hers. He had no feelings about this, really, it was just the way things were. He still enjoyed seeing his mom and spending time with her and his sister - but it didn't sting quite as much as it used to when she had to leave him alone.

So it was that he was thoroughly engrossed in following a very particular red beetle as it shimmied its way up the trunk of a palm, and he didn't notice his mother's stealthy approach. He jumps at her touch and the flames of his mane and tail disappear for a moment - sending up a little plume of grey smoke before reigniting. He twirls to smile shakily at his mom, embarrassed at how easily he was startled (making a mental note to be more aware of his surroundings from now on). "Moooommmm...." he groans in the tone of a child that knows his parent has gotten the best of them. But her following question quickly distracts him from his embarrassment and his eyes alight with the possibility of adventure. "Where are we going!?" He asks excitedly, sparks flying from his crest making him look like some sort of celebration. He prances to his mother's side and nudges her expectantly. "Can we go now?!"
