    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    [complete]  Event 3 Task 1
    #11
Warrick joins the others, nostrils quivering as he listens to what he must do. He snorts softly at the idea of a race, his wings shuffling against his auburn sides. He doesn’t recognize many of the faces that are around him, but they are all different shapes and sizes which he knows will be interesting to see once the race had begun.

The blue-bay stallion leaps forward with a powerful surge from his hindquarters, setting himself into a gallop. His legs are stretched out beneath him, attempting to cover as much ground with each stride. He keeps his wings pinned tightly to his sides so that their bulk would not effect his speed, but he can feel the internal need for him to spread them and take to the skies.

    Another does so.

Warrick’s mind thinks about it, but he rallies against flight and surges forward with a new burst of energy, focusing on only his moving legs and pounding heart. He crosses the finish line with a breathless grin, sweeping his wings beside him to cool the heated temperature of his skin.
