Oh the fall, how it broke me.
Tumbling downwards, down, down, dead.
In my old age, perhaps, I have been blind.
Utterly ignorant of myself, too.
The past, oh, it haunts me like ghosts in the window,
And the mirror,
And the water.
Oh, the water; above thee, the awning stood.
A deck, a streamer, and oh the cabins!
Whether I fell from the front or on top, no one knows.
But I fell, and it cracked me.
In the former times, perhaps I might have lived.
But now...
Dead, dead, dead, gone.

Unsuccessful.
The clue for Texas is pretty vague, and you only have that one clue. Also, you wrote streamer in your steal, rather than steamer, and steamer is a key part of the definition.
