Round 3: The Transformation - The Creator - 01-25-2018

Trissy and Hod withdrew before the deadline and have been returned to Beqanna with no ill effects unless they so choose.

Ygritte failed to post by the deadline- Ygritte is returned to beqanna in a blinding flash of light causing her to go blind for 2 RL weeks. However, she finds herself in some luck as her left eye will then heal, but her right will be permanently blind. An update will be posted on her behalf.

Gansey has been eliminated. For the next 2 RL weeks, you truly believe that you have a Unicorn horn. Not only do you believe you have one, you want to tell everyone and occasionally think you run into things with it, you know cause it’s new, and you are adjusting.

You keep your memories of your ordeal, and even the injuries too-- though they won't totally hinder you in your future endeavors, don't fret puppets.

All the while, the Author smiled at the stories he watched and the pages of notes he scribbled feverishly as each one unfolded. The final story ended, and the final horse became a lovely unicorn. He put his pencil and pad down satisfied that the Fairies had indeed delivered dynamic personalities to work with. Each unique face had delivered equally unique stories. However, he still needed some more stories so he instantly started to think of the next story.

The man didn’t want more animal-based stories, only so many people liked stories from an animal’s perspective, and his core audience wasn’t the same audience as Disney’s Pixar. So, he decided to try and push the boundary of what the fairies said. Which also meant testing the ability of his little four-legged characters. With a vision in mind and pen in hand, he wrote the next prompt in crisp letters on the page:

The Crying Game: Write the saddest scene you can, think of between yourself and a boy/girl (whatever the opposite sex is). The catch is that they just met. Double catch your story must include the three of the following***: a stolen ring, a good luck charm, a small lie that gets bigger and bigger, an older brother, an unfair contest, the skeleton of a bird, whiskey, a mistake at the zoo, a children's book, a box of matches, a frightened security guard, a hair salon, and an amazing rumor that turns out to be true.

Satisfied, he picked up the pad of paper he was writing his notes in and his pen. He mulled over his prompt critiquing his idea and brainstorming the possible stories he may attain. The list of elements was simply to see how much he could push his crew of horse-characters. The Author tapped his pen, waiting for something to happen. Slowly the horses before The Author shifted and changed until they all had taken the form of humans! Shocked at the sight before him, he laughed, excited that he would have human characters to work with. He rolled his shoulders in preparation, as the first scene unfolded....

Round 3
In this round you are responding to the prompt The Author gave you (see above). You have been transformed into human form, appearance up to you, but your personality should stay as well as any injury (in an equivalent area).

The story must from your character’s point of view and you will power play the other boy/girl.

As this is supposed to be a rather SAD story, please be considerate of readers and state if there is something that may strike close to home (trigger warnings, if you will).

I am banning any kind of sexual assault “centered” stories. Outside of that one exclusion, the story you create is up to you.

***FUN NEW CHALLENGE!!! Each of the elements listed in the prompt can only be used a TOTAL of 3 times. you have 36 hours to post which 3 you will use AND you can only repeat ONE of the elements as the person who posted before you. you may NOT change the elements after you posted your choices.

for example:
jimbob: a stolen ring, a hair salon, a lie that gets bigger and bigger
sally: a stolen ring, <s>a lie that gets...</s> (can't have 2 the same as the person before), whiskey, a box of matches.

IF you need further clarification, ask away. I will update this post as questions are asked so everyone has equal access to information.

FAQ

element selection post may be done OOC, quick and simple.

Story needs to focus on something sad happening— it’s called “the crying game” for a reason.

You do not have to have your character splicing remembering horse life— up to you. Make sure personality is intac though as this is fromyoir characters point of view.

You no not have to include the scene morphing/ or character morphing in your post. We all know it happens so your story may start as the start of your scene. It’s up to you if you want to use a chunk of your word allowance to flush out he “becoming human” bit.

The other main character (boy/girl) is a NPC so you can make them however you want.

Yes you may have more than two characters in your tale— just make sure it doesn’t become about the other instead of your main two ( your character and the boy/girl)
