Came to Beqanna at the age of 4 (joined with pegasus wings). Met Kagerus in the Field, who sported feathered wings at the time due to her dream manipulation. Met Solace in Hyaline after joining Kagerus on a flight to the mountainous kingdom, having taught Kagerus a bit about flying in the process.

Starting as diplomat but soon promoted, Ilma became well known as ambassador for Hyaline. Her friends Solace and Kagerus fell for one another, though with hiccups that Ilma was fully aware of (including the birth of Kagerus’ son Abysm, and Solace’s twins). When Svedka, Solace’s twin returned, she also grew close to him.

After the birth of her firstborn daughter, Ilma sent Tähti to Nerine for a year, as part of an alliance secured, and spent a lot of time hoping to convince the grulla stallion Arithmetic to possibly staying. Arithmetic mostly stayed until breeding season, forcing Ilma to carry her second child whilst she had hoped to wait a season; after this, the stallion quickly disappeared.

Ilma took her pregnancy very hard, though she was supported by Kagerus and Svedka a lot. Svedka was even present at Llowell’s birth, and helped her through the first few months by simply being there for the mother and child. Though she suffered nightmares, eventually Ilma could let go - though it would take years for her to conceive a new child.

Ilma got nearly stolen by Lepis, diplomat of Loess at the time, but this failed. To the non-invoking Hyaline, this looked a lot like a diplomat’s act if warfare. Though in retrospect Lepis claimed it was supposed to be a friendly steal, the terms did not imply this at the time for secret reasons the Loessians wouldn’t explain, and thus Kagerus and Solace reacted harshly to the attempt. In the end of the bickering, Ilma stole Lepis, though the navy and dun mare portrayed Ilma as a terrible woman stealing her away from her family (that Ember, whom Ilma had just adopted, was the same age as Lepis’ child, was quickly forgotten in the Loessian mare’s perception). When Lepis ran away and Ilma confronted her, Castile was present as mediator. However, the white and dun mare could not agree, to which Ilma agreed to let Lepis leave on the same terms she said she had wanted to present Ilma with - that her kingdom would owe hers a favor.
To this day, though both are diplomats, it seems Ilma and Lepis never got a friendly relationship beyond expressing common niceties. Kagerus did come to a form of understanding with Wolfbane, Loess’ Pirate Lord at the time, as Ilma had requested to stay out of the negotiations.

Unruly times followed, in which Ilma’s wings were traded for sunshine wings, and Ilma befriended several kingdom leaders, until the Plague hit Beqanna and lands were shifted. Her queens decided to leave for Silver Cove, taking most of Hyaline with them. Ilma’s job changed from mediator to recruiter, searching those in Beqanna without a safe home, to reside in the Cove until the sickness passed by.

Ilma took part in an ice queen’s quest, receiving Precognition as a reward. She also helped find the right blooms from Brilliant Pampas, though she was not in time she still had a change of appearance (Ethereal appearance).

The white mare contracted the Plague as a carrier, already knowing that her next child (Terhi) would contract the disease as a child, leaving her with terrible childhood hallucinations. Around the same time, Solace went through a bad pregnancy that nearly killed her, to which Kagerus and Solace both left the Silver Cove, its throne, and their last child.

After some discussion, Ilma agreed to bearing the Cove’s crown for a BQ year, and pass it on to Dawn and Clayton, who had both seemed promising successors at the time but a little inexperienced to Ilma. During Ilma’s rule, Castile stole Solace’s last child from the Cove, and in the middle of negotiations managed to start nearly a war with Tephra as well. In the meantime, Litotes who had spent a prisoner’s year in Loess as well and who had formerly been leader of Hyaline with his wife Kensa, procured Pangea for himself, something Ilma had also wanted for him, but he did not believe nor trust her any more because she had been friends with Solace and Kagerus; who had let him do his time in Loess without interference.

Having had enough of ruling with so many horses unwilling to work with her, Ilma let decisions be made by Dawn, and retreated to Hyaline. She spent a year or two as a hermit, dealing with the precognition visions that would still come to her. It was thus how she knew about the events in Loess and Tephra, who had indeed gone to war.

Upon putting herself back out there, Ilma decided to live in the meadow for a while. Dawn had given her crown in part to Litotes, ruling Pangea and thus Hyaline and the Cove between the two of them. Their rule differed so much from what Hyaline once was, that Ilma did no longer belong.

After a long meeting with Castile and coming to some conclusions about his nature and behaviour not changing for the better - arguably not the first meeting between the two friends ending in this matter - Ilma decided she would rather show him how else one could ‘bring peace’ to Beqanna - instead of conquering all of it and forcing everyone together. She visited Heartfire, and from there on went on her personal quest to try and bring peace where peace was wanted - and in a peaceful way instead of a forced one.

Sometime during the abovementioned trip, Ilma died. She doesn't remember anything about the incident, if it was an accident or not. Currently she tries to start again, but it's no easy feat when her precognition bestows upon her visions and deja vu feelings that she takes to be memories.
