Assailant -- Year 226
"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Vida is a smart-mouthed and independent mare that is not easily charmed by any horse. She enjoys having her freedom and not having to abide by any certain rules. However, she knows the ways of the wild and how it works, so as long as the horse in charge of the herd knows what he or she is doing, the grulla is willing to listen. Silver-tongued with a sharp mind despite her young age, Vida can be a dangerous enemy, as well as an ally. However, she is extremely loyal to those she loves. That is a negative side to her personality; she can get attached fairly quickly, and therefore becomes loyal to a lot of horses. She can tell if a horse doesn't seem worthy of her loyalty, but this is often clouded by the need to be close to those around her after being abandoned as a filly. Despite her sharp characteristics, Vida is a naturally quiet horse. She prefers action over words, knowing that helps get the message across more effectively, depending on the horse. She despises the idea of being in charge of something, as she believes those horses do anything to avoid getting their hooves dirty. She'd rather be out on the battlefield, or doing things for herself, not having others give orders for the sake of keeping clean.

Vida's past is rather vague considering she has never told anyone about it. All that is known, roughly, is that she was abandoned by her father and mother when she was a filly, and she survived on the milk of a deer that took her in, sensing that the young filly needed help. When she was old enough to be weaned, Vida left the deer and searched for a herd. She did fine a couple over the years, but never stayed for long due to a feeling that something was pushing her away and in a different direction. During Beqanna's changes, Vida acquired a scar on her leg from when she made her way down from the mountain. It has mostly faded, but still stands out against her darker coat.
